in january, i started this new diet fad thats been going on in the uk, essentially, you fast 2 days a week (pick whichever days suit you best).
on your fasting days, you're allowed up to 600calories for guys, 500 for girls.
i lost a stone in a month - the rest of the week, when not fasting, you can pretty much eat whatever you want - however, try to stick to a sensible diet, so for example dont go crazy on the take out on days you can eat. besides which, fasting for a day will shrink your stomach anyways, so the next day you'll fill up quicker.
dunno if you'll try it, but it might be something to get you started, as intially, the weight will just fall off, then you can start on your exercise regime when you have a little less to throw around.
also, another mitigating factor is eating breakfast. especially on fast days, oats or wheat (quaker oats, or weetabix) for breakfast will see you through til lunch, then a small lunch will see you through to the end of the day - if you need to snack, eat fruit. i was in the really bad habit of never eating breakfast, then having huge meals in the evening - whereas having breakfast and eating smaller meals in the evening, is much better.
