I find dungeons quite enjoyable in gw2 and my sole purpose is the $$moola$$, in addition to playing an unconventional build of seriously high risk for a high reward where I could drop any second if I fool around w/o being the generic Berserker warrior. 13k hp berserker guard is more fun and riskier IMO. I just run each path of a know dungeon per day with different characters with guildmates or pugs and enjoy myself. My only issue is PUGs that screw everything up luckily I've found fewer here in gw2 than in wows dungeon finder.
OT: hopefully this new TA path will be quick and enjoyable and not several hours of torture like some dungeons i dont run >.>

Second boss was stupid easy, all he did was a whirlwind every 15 seconds. We just tanked him in the corner. Overall boss fight awful.

3rd boss was entertaining. Lure holograms when he puts up the armor, if he gets 30 stacks he does a pulse knockback. If you are to far away from the boss he summons gears on you. Overall the fight was entertaining but meh.

The story was nice, the lion guard got no story involvement what so ever, they just showed up at the end to kill ships and pirates. But cathies secret... WHAT IS IT
How about the stuff between bosses? For instance the ooze puzzle where you have to escort the oozes to the end. Did you find doing the ooze puzzle and any other puzzle elements to be easy?

It's a very poor dungeon tbh, if they've worked on this for months it's sad...
In most cases, I understand the other side's viewpoint and how they came to it, but cannot tolerate their stubbornness to not see mine (the right one).

It felt fun, the last part (optional event) is quite messy and you have to be coordinated if you want to get the achievs!~

Just wrapped up our run. Took about an hour or so. It was... okay. The puzzles/scenarios were sort of annoying though. 9_9

come on it's not that hard, it took us like 2 tries on the slimes, once you get the rythm of it you can deal with it quite quickly

  8. #168
I'll detail how my run went.

step 1: the usual LFG hastle
step 2: DC after slick and be forced to restart
step 3: usual LFG hastle again
step 4: Dungeon host leaves at the second boss
    step 5: LFG hastle AGAIN
    step 6: Kill final boss

I won't go into detail with how stupid the warriors were that tagged along but let's say that "kiting" apparently is a top player skill...

Took a few mins to figure out. It wasn't hard. Just sort of annoying/tedious.

Not sure why you think we found it difficult.

    Because annoying = hard clearly...

Seemed okay to me. I even got the achievement for not walking directly into the fire! Difficulty isn't too high but I'd avoid pugging it, the last boss especially can get messed up by clueless people.

my only problem with the instance is the buggy destroyed generators in the boss room where if u walk anywhere near them they suck u in and your character spazzes out trying to get out of them. Died so many times cuz of them.

They were all easy, they were just there to show mechanics of the bosses in the dungeon. To prepare you. The ooze thing was easy, just had to do it at same time, the electric floor was..... stupid? You can just dodge and invul it through the room and then the holograms were just as stupid.

Yea, I agree, Getting the little flowers to attract the slimers was an easy telegraph. But it all just felt sort of gimmicky and whatever on the whole.

I'm not really sure what the rationale is/was supposed to be. Like are you super eager to do the hologram thing every run? I did it once and it was enough, forever.

The dungeons I HATED in Rift or Warcraft were like the ones when you had to fly a dragon, put turrets all over the place or do the dungeon as a goddamn robot/tank. Or jumping all over the place like it's fucking Mario Bros. 2. I don't find minigames and out-of-class elements all that engaging in MMOs.

Though it may be that I am the fringe. Not too enthused about minigames overall. Unless they are card games. Or pets. Or like collectable pets that you pit against other enemy pets in vicious battles by placing cards on a hexagonal board.

I enjoy those type of minigames/puzzles/side stuff.

    Staff design gets shafted again:

Oh look at the detail of this shield and greatsword...

It's a fucking reskin and some how staff still gets f'en shafted. Why do they insist on making the end of the staff no bigger then your hand? It looks stupid and out of place.

  17. #177
@ zito, I would say because when i picture a staff in my mind i think of it being top heavy and not bottom heavy. AkA you either do a double sided staff with same or different things on both sides or you do what Anet is doing and have just the top be all fancy and less fancy at the bottom because hey, that parts going on the ground, cuz thats where the bottoms of staffs go.

Oh and another problem i have with dungeons in GW2 in general is the fact that if the person who initiated the dungeon leaves the group, everyone gets kicked and you have to start all over. Maybe this just applies to explore but still its ridiculous and Anet needs to fix their tech as i assume thats whats causing this to happen and make it so the instance doesnt reset when the "leader" leaves.

It might come off as a huge surprise to some of the fellow posters here, but I actually had ... lots of fun doing the new dungeon yesterday We tried it in a guild group, died quite a few times trying to figure out some of the tactics, all in all had a very entertaining 2,30 hours approx. I would say that for the average player the dungeon could be challenging as some coordination is indeed needed. The only negative on my side is that it takes time close to Arah paths which for me would be a problem regarding its replayability.

just got done not completing the dungeon after about 5 hours.

yeah, skipping dungeons from now on

Dungeons in GW2 never struck me as anything particularly fun with the combat system the game has. I did AC, i did the 2nd one, the Manor or what not, did some Fractals, did CoF , and did Arah SM and none of those were particularly something i enjoyed . I did like the one in the End of Flame and Frost , but that was about it. When my guild says LF1 CoE/HotW/Arah Exp/TA etc i think to myself : "I could run those.. get the achievements, see how it is, my guild can clear it easy.. but ehhh nahh". I think GW2s strong with the World feel imo, the instanced parts aren't so well done, including Personal story. But this is just me ofc.
