You former party is nuts @Skroe.
The demagoguery and hyperbole in order to 'discuss' and 'debate' their ideas. The worst is painting the other side as some extreme wing it is not. Ironic in my opinion.
So they really want a all or nothing right vs left, no compromise and one side (their side) mus win. Which brings me to Russia or any foreign government on how easy it is to keep our country in chaos and ineptitude for years to come. So in the end we did not get beat by a competing or merging market or I guess military power, however you measure a country of world power. Instead we collapsed from within by some 'all or nothing' political party.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!
Yep they've completely lost their minds.
Why? Because they're terrified of losing their access, their influence, their jobs, their careers and ultimately their money. You can tell that about how they dragged McCain through the mud and wrote the Bush family out of history. This is basically Soviet Union politics come to America. This is exactly what the new ruling cliques did.
They have come so far and accomplished so little, and suffered a terrible rebuke in November, and despite protestations to the contrary, they have no idea how to respond. The "Democrats are communists / Red Scare 2.0" message is a surefire loser in 2020. It _will_not_work_no_matter_how_hard_they_try_. All it will do will get the Rubes of America to donate money to them (probably half the point), but it will not turn out votes or win converts. We know that because they pressed it hard in the midterm and it failed spectacularly, and Pelosi and co are wisely pushing anti-corruption and government reform, and not a progressive revolution.
Regardless of Trump's legal fate in the near and medium term, they're going to get served badly in 2020. And they don't quite know how to process it.
This isn't the party of ideas anymore. It's the party of Soviet-style demagoguery. They bring shame to us all.
I'll say it again: Democrats have the opportunity to truck the Republicans in a way they haven't been trucked since 1932. All Democrats have to do is think with their brains and not their hearts or the or their balls. Instead of diving in for the wishlist right now, if I were a progressive, I'd be focused entirely on scoring electoral victories to set up for big progressive policy wins in the future.
That would involve though going more for Pelosi-style strategy than AOC-style WWE politics. Don't get me wrong... right wing nuttery over AOC is way way over the top, but for someone who is on my side at the moment, I'm getting a little tired of saying "stupid kid..." when she runs her mouth rather than uses her brain (and she's a very smart person, you can tell). More of what she did with Cohen, and a lot less of telling centrist Democrats, which are the reason Democrats have a majority, that they're about to be on her hitlist.
We both know where this may end?
Since I'm a Woke Independent the extreme right will definitely bring out or encourage more extreme left. No doubt the Dem have moved left and are emboldened by more left/progressive ideas.
This is where we can get into the debate of 'Why should the Dems or the Left stay in the center as the right goes off the rails'? The conservatives I do follow on social media implore Dems to stay or elect centrist. You must admit that it's hard for one side to always be the rational one and the one.
I also remember CPAC as a place for conservativism. But 10 years ago it seemed to become extreme and off-the-rails. Now I'll admit I never followed CPAC close but I wonder what happened about 10 years ago to finally send the to crazy town?
What might us say brought on the dark ages?
Maybe it was when a certain President was elected and they saw that when the electorate is energized and the young and minority vote turn out their chances of winning were going to be difficult. That instead as you stated trying to get that part of the electorate, they decided to use hate and fear to circle their wagons with who they already had the party. Oh they did bring new people, but these people awfully look like the other people in the party.

I've been fairly close to the industry from a couple different angles and that matches what I've seen as well. While there are plenty of good intentioned regulators, there are also quite a few that don't have any particular domain expertise and have arrived at a position where they're quite in over their head and they're in "something must be done and this is something" mode.
Not having a significant degree of regulatory reciprocity with European agencies seems incredibly silly to me.
Why are you making me defend this asshat? He's an idiot, but not because he's arguing that it's okay to kill homeless people, he's an idiot because he's framing the "if I'm not harming anyone else it shouldn't be illegal" as, "if I'm not harming you personally, it should be legal," and extending that to a slippery slope where killing a homeless person is okay. He's arguing that, because it's not okay to kill homeless people, we should regulate porn.
Seriously, what the fuck is up with Trump and molesting the US flag frequently? This is just such bizarre behavior that makes him seem like a fucking child rather than the head of the most powerful country in the world.
I agree with you on cow farming. That is why we need to stop the reproduction rate. Its great that it is lower in sophisticated countries but we need to get the religious people, the Indians and the Chinese to stop reproducing so we can eat cheese burgers instead of jelly fish sandwiches.
The only people who will be able to eat a cheeseburger is the super-rich.
Nearly every speech he is implying there is a significant misogyny, racism, Islamophobia, or homophobia problem in the US. Which is bogus because there's always going to be some incidents in every country. In my view Trump improved on Obama by a lot by talking about universal problems, especially economic issues in general. Yes social issues should be addressed, but my bet is on the candidates that campaign on economics. It's very early but I think Andrew Yang might have a chance since he is also running a very simple campaign based on an economic policy.
Has anyone figured out who Gen. Raisin Cain is yet? I just listened to the clip of Trump talking about it (Which has no point to the story of course), where apparently Trump was angry at General 1, General 2, General 3, and General Raisin Cain (Like the fruit, he specifically said so) because they weren't getting results in Syria. Of course this is 15 seconds after he claimed that by today or tomorrow we will "have 100% of ISIS" so I am not exactly clear what results they weren't getting, because it sounds like they did a good job to me. So ISIS joins the wall as something that is both done, needs to be dealt with, and is a complete disaster, all at the same time.
But General Raisin Cain is taking care of it, so I feel better.
