How can you name something that can be easily put to EVERYONE and do when YOU want it... and not artificially shifted in time to future?
Psst... it's not artificial if it's designed that way intentionally. You don't have to play a MMO if you don't want to experience time gating. There are plenty of other game which provide instant gratification. On top of this, there's the very real fact that MMO players tend to do all sorts of degenerate bullshit when things aren't time gated (see: AP grinding in early Legion) so to an extent it exists to save players from themselves. That's not to say all time gating is good or that I fully accept every time gate Blizzard puts into the game, just that it isn't always done with the type of malicious intent that players like to imply it is.

Because those don't give appearances. Tier pieces become tier. Off pieces like cloaks, belts etc have their appearances changed to match your class's tier set. That's the only way to complete the looks cause they don't drop from raids. The CC was never meant for jewelry and trinkets. What would you propose it would even do to them?

Timegating Player Power is always terrible and we saw how people flew away from the game these months.
Timegating Content like Sunwell Isle that gets done in 2/3 weeks at worse is fine.

They are actually the same. You do PVP, you buy gear in exange. Bonus is you also get to choose a free piece in your vault on top of that.
They were garbage. Either only selling a few pieces or overpowered shit rending the whole game useless.Pve vendors were also more than fine.
The catalyst allow anyone to get a full set without putting a foot in the raid which no vendors ever did. It's just a far better system, that let people work toward a tangible goal at the level of play they feel is right for them (you can get the set from ZM open world ilvl to 278, it's up to anyone to choose).
Non stop m+ farming with valor cap making you full 262 making HC and normal completely irrelevant due to 265 itm lvl and 272 for the last 2 bosses. same logic.
also entering 272 while the avg itm lvl is 278 in mythic should be a problem?

Unity Belt is a Timegated.
Flying on PTR was Timegated, now it isnt really because even if you didnt play the campaign back then you can do rn in 1 day.

The original guy was complaining the system was bad, like Blizzard say how people were annoyed how long it took and decided to hotfix it in response to player criticism. Except this is wrong. They planned to nerf it and make it recharge faster from the beginning. If you're not responding to the point I just made here, don't bother responding.

Show me where I said you said day 1, but it might as well be day 1 saying mythic. Then again all you seem to be able to do is launch a personal attack rather than give any valid reason to it needing to be open day 1 other than "wahhhh I wanted it". It's a catch up/bad luck protection it doesn't need to be up day 1 or day 21. The opening day was 100% valid.

By your definition any weekly quest, weekly reward etc is timegating as well. Dragonflight is timegated, patches are timegated. Loot is time gated. Nearly everything is timegated by your definition. It stands to reason then that most other things in the game should be when playing a game with so much of it.
