Just finish creeps off with auto attacks during the first bit. Prevents you from pushing the lane too much, and as such, once you get junglers, you won't get ganked as easily.

Ignite is a bit situational. Sure, it can snag you a kill, and the damage is unresistable, but it shines against champs with absurd sustain (Dr. Mundo, Swain, etc) other than that, it's a bit lackluster. Exhaust is useful all game as it severely cripples Attack Damage carries. Yeah, the duration on exhaust is small, but 2.5 secs is enough to kill em most times at high levels.

I'm not using spells on the minions at the moment when farming so I guess I could aoe a bit more.

Once you get the AP, then sure. Otherwise I find that the minions just happen to get the last hits on most of em (though with Morgana's passive, desecrate can be a decent means of getting more life)

Takes practice lol.

But you will find it makes a hell of a difference if you can get most of the waves. Record for my AD carry is bloodthirster 16 mins in.

You were carrying pretty hard lol. Surprised he managed to kill anything with that item. Veigar is the definition of "Stack as much AP as possible". 1500 damage ults from him are not unheard of.

He isn't that hard to deal with early on. He has a special mechanic in which he has to last hit minions with his Q to farm ability power (1 ability power per slain minion). So, deny minions, deny late game supremacy.
