I pull a steady 20k on a dummy, but I've seen shadow priests in similar quality gear do better.

My rotation is VT>DP>SW>MF>MF>Archangel>Fiend>Mind Blast>VT>DP then spam MF, doing MB every time it's off CD

Am I doing something wrong? Or am I supposed to be in this range? How can I be -better-?

Please, there's a thread for this matter with a lot of people posting asking for help. As much as I'm sure you need and deserve it you should do like everyone else and post there instead.

1) You are over hit cap
2) You're opening rotation should be something like this:
SWP, SF, MF5, MB, VT, DP , AA
You'll want to bank on at least one orb when you cast your initial MB for extra DoT dmg for VT/DP when they go up
3) Make sure you are moving around whenever you are casting an instant cast. Your Apparitions procs at a higher rate. So looking at point #2, you should be moving as you cast your first two abilities, and then plant for the next few, then move during DP, etc.
4) Enchant your shoulders
5) Get rid of the purple gem in a red socket (shoulders)
6) Get to the first haste breakpoint
7) Helm reforge is a mistake, never go Haste -> Spirit


Also be aware when you do get 4-set, MS/MB spam dominates during fiend.

Lastly... some gear things can be easy to catch and some changes there will help, but normally the majority of the time low dps has to do with not keeping your DoTs up enough or in general not just executing priorities correctly. It's pretty hard to see what you are doing wrong to help you without logs. Even if it is just LFR (or a heroic dungeon) it helps to have a look at what you are actually doing.
