If things were perfect, I’d be an English professor. Things are perfect, however, and I am no longer mentally fit to continue my education. At least for now.
What is your dream job? Are you already doing it? If not, why aren’t you?

2. AI researcher. Problem is, I despise the current AI establishment because they falsely believe that intelligence is about pattern-based predictions.

Probably say footballer or something to do with astronomy. Not really sure, tbh.
This is one of them. Always wanted to make a career out of going to spooky houses and mansions and hunt ghosts and demons. Like a John Constantine.
For the longest time, ever since I was in elementary school, I wanted to be a video game designer but as time went on the gaming industry changed and it got to a point where working in that industry no longer appealed to me. Developers constantly being eaten by other bigger companies and then being disbanded by that company like being chewed up and spat out and the fact that the mentality of money > quality is more present than ever before. I'm just not interested in games being a service rather than a story driven experience. So I've become turned off about the whole idea.
I guess these days my dream job (other than a paranormal investigator) would have to be something involved with studying or investigating extra terrestrial life and other phenomena happening out in space like black holes. Those things always interested me and I always loved reading about them. It's just so interesting to think that there could be other intelligent life forms out there. We've always seen the movies and comics and all that but to actually think it could be a real thing just blows my mind. Also stuff like black holes, worm holes, and parallel dimensions. Reading theories about that stuff was always super interesting to me. The thought of what could happen if you traveled into a black hole is just so interesting and the possibility of a dimension where there's another, different me is just so fucking cool.
Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to make a career out of those things except for maybe a paranormal investigator. So they will just have to stay dream jobs.
One other idea that I have thought about was being a movie actor. I kinda always wanted to be an action movie star like Sylvestor Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Keanu Reeves, or Jason Stathom.

- "I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. The kids used to come up and reach in the pool & rub my leg down so it was straight & watch the hair come back up again. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap, and I love kids jumping on my lap...” - Pedo Joe

Maybe do something terrible enough that the government is too lazy to have me killed, but is willing to pay me a modest weekly income for the rest of my life. Or would that be a social-security check?
Philanthropist or nurse. I'm working on the nurse right now and hoping that one of these days the lottery allows me to do the other one too!
Travel writer. I enjoy what I do now but yeah, traveling, eating, and writing and making enough from it would be awesome.
I suppose what I'm doing now is heading that direction. I would like to be something like an old time scholar of the sort who traveled, discovered, taught, and solved problems as things came their way.
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.
