For everything I prefer a human race. Playing a “monster” has zero interest to me. All my horde toons are belf cause it’s the closest human like race there.

I'm a woman that games and in my experience playing games with other women over 2 decades they like playing monster races more than men. I'm surprised that so many people answered that men like playing monster races more, makes me question how often they play games with women to be honest. I'll give you a hint: the majority of the people playing blood elves are definitely men.

I tend to prefer more humanoid races, thats why on Horde I roll Belf. However now that undead are gonna get knees and elbows, Im so racechanging once SL hits.

I wouldn´t mind playing monster races, but in wow, they are poorly animated most of the time and I usually go with whatever looks good.

I mean I can kinda understand playing a Female as a man, but naming it with a clear feminine name too just seems odd.

Now image that shit-load of horny guys plays as blood elf female characters (wind runner roleplay).

Now image Blood elf female paladin named JARED or BillyBob and Kevin thats would be 100% more odd than some random name like Ellisandra or Lilline.

Female here. I play Trolls, Tauren, etc. and kind of hated Alliance until Worgen were introduced. Draenei were a step in the right direction but way too pretty, and their lore was very goody two-shoes with no savage or horror elements whatsoever. Only monster race I won’t touch is Orcs because they are just... too beefy for my tastes. Especially since I mainly roll clothies.

Probably. Given they tend to like cute things.
But, theres obviously exceptions. The most active female player i know plays a worgen female and a female draenei priest.
It really is hard to say.

I myself tend to like the more human races too. Humans, kultirans, dwarves, gnomes, void elves, blood elves. But, i also like goblin. I think it has to do with stature, animations and how gear looks on them.

I really like Horde races more than Alliance races (they're much more unique rather than human, fat human, small human short human and elf) but I really, REALLY love Alliance's architecture and Inn music so much more.

That's fair enough. I think i tend to go to more human races cause i find them more relateable.
Like, i really can't stand the Orc grunting. It's pretty annoying to me and i don't want people to see me like that, for example. I see my character as an extension of myself.
I think the reason why goblins are an exception to me is cause they are funny and i like the tech theme of gnomes and goblins (not mechagnomes though! They are just mutilated gnomes. Cringy!).

The good thing about male design for female characters is that they are very well done. Male characters on the other hand feelvery samey, always the seasoned , grizzled, hardcore dude.. in stark contrast to the females. Like they only know how to do one kind of guy.

I think some of the male characters look good, such as the Worgen ones, Tauren ones, Undead ones, Orc ones... But I think Orcs as well as Humans could benefit from more than one, swole body type.

My favourite race, if I had to pick, would be Orcs. Female Orcs, to be exact. I love the way they look in armor, their bow/gun animations and the lore of the Mag'har Orcs. Mag'har Orc, Tauren and Undead = my top 3, in that order. ^_^
