OT: Looking forward to Cata Classic as it's the only version of Classic that I have any interest in playing. Curious to find out which changes they implement.

I still don't get why they're doing Cata. It's still in Retail. Not to mention Cata is considered the entire turning point of the game from both a system pov and subscriber count pov.

Just no. I get if you never tried it back then, but why else? LET ME FILL YOU IN: 12 million subs peak wotlk. 6 months after cata launched like...what 5 million subs only. They had to nerf heroic 5 mans (Because huge complaints, nothing to do as casuals etc), and ghostcrawler quit Blizzard. And then...my gut, they delayed patch 4.1 to just give us ZG and ZA as shitty 5 mans...However Firelands was a good raid, no doubt - Heroic Ragnaros 10/10. BUT MAIN THING: YOU REALLY WANNA PLAY HARD CONTENT? The first raid in Cata you either go left or right and you are doing bosses thats harder than anything WOTLK or TBC (HC lich king maybe not) had...At least once heroic. Maybe the worm is a bit easy, but nothing else is.

Also Dragonsoul was as bad as it comes. I even quit wow for the first time then, took 6 months away which for me was huge back then.

They're doing Cata because MoP is the most beloved and nostalgic expansion of the 2010s WoW and Blizzard is expecting MoP Classic to be a big hit with the community.

Look at social media, they are FILLED with nostalgic posts about MoP and how good MoP was.

They'll probably stop after MoP though. WoD/Legion/BfA/etc. don't need to be in Classic.

I always prefer large matchmade groups over large premade groups. LFR might be bad, but nothing is as bad as organized raids.

Which parts of Wrath and TBC are missing from Retail? TBC quests got nerfed down to more reasonable numbers of kills/drops, and the Battle for Undercity is missing from Wrath. Other than that, it's really just the Vanilla stuff that's missing from what I can tell. The Classic expansions are a chance to relive the class gameplay of older expansions and do versions of the fights that don't just fall over in one hit, even if they are fairly trivial by today's standards. You can't play mana battery SPriest or Meta Demo in Retail. That's what's not in Retail, and that's what Classic offers.

Having bought the pack thinking I'll have more chance to get into beta, what a fool am I
