As nice as a consolation prize for digging up fossil/troll item #25664 is, this does little to fix the real problems with the profession.

1. I'm Forced to dig for races I already have completed (common & rares).
2. STUPID RNG based system with multiple layers, no progression towards a goal whatsoever regardless of time investment.
3. 95% Of my playtime consists of watching my flying mounts ass.

Blizzard shouldn't have to figure out ways for you to fill your time. How hard is it to use the click to move function then alt-tab and do something else? That's what I do when I'm doing Archeology.

as someone who has already gotten his arch to 525 and gotten the sword he wanted. im very dissapointed in this. i made a total of like 1g from arch and now that im done with it they are making it a gold farming profession.

Yep, they owe me entertainment. Ofc. I can choose not to do Archaeology (which in fact is what i have done), but still It's not that's just me who's complaining. Look at the forums. Almost everyone who has spend serious time at endgame Arch, says the same as I do.

Focus Magic and more importantly, Arcane Tactics.

I also don't know why people are bitching and moaning about a profession that is entirely, 100% optional and really serves no purposes outside learning lore, and having a couple of first tier level 85 BoA epics. Seriously, stop crying. It was known over a year ago that the profession was going to be like this, insanely monotonous, RNG and with very little reward. There's a reason why it's a secondary profession. It would be great if the self serving GIMME NOW attitude stopped.

Um wow. I knew the prices of the artifacts were going up, I just thought they'd be doubled. I'm glad I kept almost all of them now.

They actually did announce this change weeks ago. If you are a good blues reader, it was in the blues.
It said commons had double value increase and some of them more than that.
That's why I haven't solved any nightelf or fossile in weeks.

So don't blame blizzard if you have been keep on solving since the blues, blame your own reading mistakes.

better late than never, glad they announced it before the patch released tho.

Ah yes another entitled wow player why am I not surprised. They owe you nothing, just because you pay a monthly doesn't mean they "owe" you something, you are the one who chooses to play the game THEY choose to make. You don't like it? either try and get it changed, leave it be, or quit paying for the game, simple as that. And please the loud minority that complain on forums don't represent the majority of people who do arch. I myself max'ed out arch for the lore and got a few epics along the way, I enjoyed every minute of it.

As someone who started Archaeology for the lore tidbits (and not to mindlessly grind to get the epics and rares) and who SAVED a good portion of the greys for their neat backstory or for whatever RP fluff tidbits, in the immortal words of Nelson Muntz, I say to you:

HA HA!

(But also ha ha to me, as I'm likely going to continue to keep the vendor trash items because I still prefer the fluff and flavor of them rather than the money.)

Glad I haven't leveled up my archaeology up much yet... I'm still down in the 10s artifacts which will soon be 20s I guess...
