You are not wrong at all. Stuff like that bothers me aswell. Women are fine. Feminists are the problem, and they are ruining it for the rest of the women. I have nothing but respect for women who are dedicated to their work. Not selfish at all. I love it when women have more complicated goals in life than get married and have children.

    Feminists:

Well, it's bs, but lets play a game based on the logic from that facebook post and my own experience:

What ppl think when a male is saying "I love porn!"? -Many may see you as a pervert, many will just say "we all do, it's ok", but, you know. Normal girls will ask you for the best movies you've got in your collection.

What ppl think when a beautiful young female is saying "I love porn!"? - Well, all men are instantly attracted to her and see her as a miracle and dreamed of girl. And other girls will say "I have my fap folder too, wanna see? show me yours".

The truth and moral of the story. Life is life.

Yeah facebook has these things that you know let you filter what appears on your feed. But ya know making a fool of yourself works too. Gives us something to giggle at. LOL

Lets talk about how much of a mama's boy the OP is. That's a real discussion!

  6. #86
Sorry OP, I kinda agree with her and not you.

Sexism is not gone just as racism is not gone. Is it as bad as it used to be? No,it's not and that is great... but it is certainly not gone.

Women were tricked by Capitalism and modern society to believe they need what they did not, to do things that don't bring them any joy. So now they are unhappy about the situation and there's only one escape, the traditional men this, men that.

There's a lot of women living their lives like God planned, and are more happy than those feminists. So smart men don't care about this anymore, i don't reply and don't care.

Women are my guesses to start doing the hard work, if they want more testosterone, well medicine can provide that.
    Right...what a silly post.

Sexism exists. But there are far more feminists than there are true sexists these days, imo. Acknowledging that men and women are different =/= sexist, btw.

It's definitely not gone, I have unfortunately seen a quite a bit of it within my workplace.

What? Were all the sexists out on the streets with picket signs or something?

A lot of jobs that are typically dominated by women are the pay/effort ratio is a bit off. Very hard work, low paying. (nursing/teaching public school etc...).
Women are more likely to be passed up for a job for a man in many corporate sectors.

These are just 2 examples of how men make more money than women. The whole "men make more money than women" phrase is a little deceptive in that sense. When a man and a woman carry the same title in a job (say a walmart manager), they will make the same starting wage. Gender doesn't really come into play there.

Gender discrimination does exist, even if you choose to be ignorant of it. However there are MANY feminists that make it out to be a LOT worse than it is.
However I am also of the opinion that men and women are built differently and it's okay to do gender typed things if it suits you. And it's also okay to do things that are not gender normative. What's not okay is using gender silently and unspoken as a crutch to deny any person a job, promotion, and other things like that. This is especially important when dealing with the law and criminal cases. Gender bias plays out a lot in courts.

I can understand the frustration if you hear it all the time, particularly your vocal feminist friends facebook rants.

When a man is a boss, he is an arrogant ass; a woman is a respected leader. Men are 'controlling', women are seen as strong-willed and determined. When a guy works late he is a bad father and isn't there for his family, when a woman works late, it is because she is a good mother trying to provide more for her family. When a man struts down the street he is cocky, when a woman does it she is confident and secure.

See, I can post random stereotypes as well and try to look special; but misandrists can't see it that way.

I don't think you are wrong to say what you said, but it doesn't exactly apply to the ad itself. I just watched the ad and at the very end it tells women to just shine on despite any stereotypes. So for you friend to make the comment she did is really meh...and your response just sparks up an argument that shouldn't even take place if both of you just more clearly look at the ad.

Kinda like acknowledging that black and white people are different isn't racist? Because we're different we need separate water fountains, schools, and toilets... cause u know, you wouldn't want to catch all those diseases they carry and they wouldn't want yours. Separate but equal. /sarcasm

This was the same basic mindset of your average white person during the civil rights movement. It's a dangerously dismissive and deluded mindset to have.

Gender stereotyping still happens in the workplace. But not solely towards women.
The fact of the matter is, it is either seen as equality or female empowerment when a woman is seen doing a good job in what used to be a male dominated job, where as if a man were to get a job in a child's nursery, parents would be concerned for their child's well-being.

Men aren't identified as being "bossy" sometimes?

I don't think the Facebook post is wrong, HOWEVER, it isn't just men that use those labels. It's some members of society, both men and women. If YOU don't look and label men and women differently, then good. Don't take the accusation personally. It's just saying that those labels are wrong (and they ARE said). It didn't say that only men label women and you shouldn't take it that way. I do disagree with you on something though. Women make less than men because they have children and take a year off?? Oy. If you edit your post (or have to repost it) take that out. :/ I don't want to throw off the topic too much, but 20% of women in the US don't have a child at all. Of the 80% that do, the average family size is 1.8. We can round that up to 2 for the sake of argument. All that said ... A) the US has zero paid maternity leave, and 12 weeks of unpaid leave before you can potentially lose your job. So where are you getting that women take a year off? B) Even for the sake of argument if we allow the 1 year thing, that's still just 2 years out of a woman's 49 year "working life" (between 16 and 65). How does this justify getting 77 cents on the dollar for the remaining 47 years?

I like the woman in the picture, she has so much hope in her eyes. Like she knows she's only a few men shaming rallies away from being privileged!
