Not sure what kind of gold your sitting on or your AH prices, but I just leveled alchemy and inscription on an alt all from the AH for right under 10k. Cost about 4.5k for alchemy and the rest went towards inscription.

Sorry you are being a bit of a drama queen and making it sound far worse than it is. It is one of the easiest and cheapest professions to level.
Most jcs shuffle to get rare gems.
It is then every easy for them to just find an alchemist who has transmute specialism (60% of all alchemists) and simply get them to transmute for you including the procs. Find one in guild or agree a price beforehand. procs are about 15-20%.
Ive made goldcap without an alchemist, multiple times. Just learn how it works instead of being a victim. It is the same for everyone, you didnt research it, but there are easy work arounds.
Remember it is the latter part of expansion pack now so there are less players and less turnover, which means profits are harder. imo jc/ench is the best combination for a single character.
I had this problem on my shaman, so I ditched mining for alchemy, problem solved.
OP runs away from thread after noone sympathises with them.
Buy ore on auction house in bulk
Prospect ore.
Sell gems.
Profit.
You don't even have to CUT gems to make money with JC, unless the ore prices on your server are ten kinds of screwed up.
Plus crappy uncommon gems when perfect cut are the same stats as blue gems. They're always sold cheaper than the blues, but still a lot more money than the crappy version sells for and they are bought up pretty quick most of the time because people are always looking for that good deal.
I mean hell leveling JC is like volunteering for gold donations basically. Sure you gotta work for it a little and prospecting can be kind of tedious but you only have to do it when you want money.
I like ponies and I really don't care what you have to say about that.
Alchemy isn't needed to do the shuffle.
OP, you should have leveled enchanting instead of mining. A gathering profession will always be worse for money making (for the time spent) than most crafting professions.
Of course every server is different, but my alchemist is only needed for Living Steel, and gatherers are just slaves to people who make the real money.
