There should have been a poll.

To the OP. Transmog didn't take anything away from that so called e-peen, if you inspect them you'll see the heroic raiding gear anyway. But I get what you mean, all those fancy raiders in vanilla and tbc, inspecting them and thinking how awesome it would be to have their gear.
Those days are gone. Wow is more casual now, for everyone really, and it's fine. The e-peeners get their heroic warforged gear still. The rest gets lesser epics that are not super hard to get.
    Win/win to me.

No way. Being stuck with mismatched pieces looks bad, especially when the set color styles don't fit each other (t15 and t16 warrior for example). Also there are several absolutely terrible looking sets that I'm glad I am not forced to look at (season 13 hunt.. excuse me, WARRIOR set... talk about an obsession with spikes).
"Believing something is not an accomplishment. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because “strength of belief” is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. Listen to any “die-hard” conservative or liberal talk about their deepest beliefs and you are listening to somebody who will never hear what you say on any matter that matters to them — unless you believe the same. Wherever there is a belief, there is a closed door."

I think transmog has improved the aesthetic of the game overall. I've never cared about anyone else's "epeen," so that doesn't matter to me. I'd rather look at cool sets that people put together than sets with big numbers.

Fuck no. Transmog is amazing and it's probably one of the only reasons I still play.

In ICC I had DK shoulders on my warr from H gunship and then in t10 there was a boe drop that I wore that again looked like dk shoulders. It was like a year and a half of that. Transmog is a huge QoL feature and it's not going away any time soon.

Of course the pre-transmog era was better. Transmog was a nice diversion, but it would be better implemented as a limited feature (e.g., enabled only during Halloween or tied to some other event), or as a pay-to-win premium feature.

Yeah i miss those days. Transmog is for pussies

Real men wear rainbow like that orc.

A lot of gear was either really ugly or missmatched if you weren't the "right" full set. I have started looking at my character since transmog instead of just her feet.

While I do miss the days of judging characters by their gear, MoP gear was so awful across the board that I have to side with the transmog side.

You might want to consider deactivating a few addons then.

    Hi Griff!!

I agree, looks > numbers. I sort of use that model while leveling characters. The quest reward might be a tiny upgrade, but I will refuse to wear it if I like how my character currently looks(and i don't bother transmogging while lvling for obvious reasons)

I also had the Rogue t2 lookalike helm and shoulders from Karazhan. It was kind of, okay no, REALLY a bad look for a Warrior, but it was the best gear I had, so I had to live with it.
Yeah, it was fun when warriors had leather and mail BiS pieces because of shit itemization on some plate DPS gear. I had a Hunter in guild get pretty pissed at me back in Wrath because I spent DKP on those mail bracers from ICC Gunship. Seems a lot of people couldn't get past the "YOU'RE A WARRIOR! YOU MUST WEAR PLATE, BECAUSE IT HAS MORE ARMOR, DUUUUUUUURP" thing.

Funny thing is that transmogrification wouldn't even work in that situation anyway since the piece you're wearing and the piece you want it to look like have to be the same armor type. That's my only complaint with transmogrification now....I wish they'd just remove all the restrictions and let people go pants-on-head crazy with whatever they want to do. If I want to make my warrior look like a dual-wielding Jedi Knight with cloth robes or dual wield fish maces, I should be able to do it.

    Unless there's some technical/development reason it wouldn't work, I don't understand why we can't.

I prefer to see people in MoP gear actually wearing their MoP gear, while everyone else is farming TBC for gear... but I'm the one with a nostalgia problem. Gotcha.

    Nope, and once more, nope.

Earned good money on mogging, lost good money on mogging too ^^

I agree, a lot of the sets in MoP were pretty bad, but not as bad as Wrath, which I think had the worst armor designs. Cataclysm wasn't great either, but at least had its moments.

To me the best design aspect of MoP is the music, which is easily the best ever in the game.
