Peskov already stated that this claims are false. Russia may go full blocked only in exceptional situations (like war or something similar), but no one discuss this as a step against US/World or sanctions.

So yeah boys and girls you will still get raped on EU battlegrounds.

North Korea isn't disconnected from the internet. They actually have quite a complex network, much like an intranet or LAN all over the country - a very, very small amount of units are connected to the actual internet, and all of those are high ranking members of the government.

Same source. Rough summary: Disconnecting was not even considered as option, there may be steps taken to protect it from excessive external influence. Disconnecting was inspected as a scenario of critical military situation (not going to happen).
TL;DR this is another BS pushed through blogs (same as BS about taking Kiev in 2 weeks, when media pulled back after the warning, that conversation will be published). Move along.

I'm surprised by the amount of RIDF in this thread (and apparently on this forum too). Never really noticed it before now.

Oh man, how nice would it be if they really did take the Russians off the Internet?

That would be lovely. I don't think we'll get that lucky.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes
    Or should I?

So does that mean no more Russians in games like Dota 2?

I know some people who would rejoice at such a thing.

Yes, that means they are disconnected from the Internet, which is what I said, and what I meant.

I am aware that North Korea has an in-country intranet, which only a scant few of its citizens can access, which has a small number of state-produced and run websites on it, and basically nobody but the high ranking government members have any access to the actual Internet at large.

For all intents and purposes, the country is removed wholly from the Internet, as no citizens can actually access it or benefit from it in any way, shape, or form.

To do it on a scale like all of Russia though is ludicrous; it could never happen. For starters, a rather sizeable portion of Russia is on satellite Internet due to so many remote areas. What's Russia going to do to those people? Shoot down the satellites?

Sure, as an act of war they could do an emergency shutdown of basically every land-locked cable leading out of the country, but that would do incalculable damage to their economy for starters, and as I already said, wouldn't actually disconnect the populace.

I don't see the real story. JFK oversaw the creation of a law that allowed the executive branch to seize control of agriculture, manufacturing and a host of other essential sectors in the event of a major catastrophe or nuclear war.

Canada has the emergency war measures act.

    Etc.

I just did a ctrl f on the previous page and the terms "USA" and "America" were not found aside from in some guys signature, it's amazing you keep bringing it up. Sounds like a victim complex or maybe daddy issues. And lol @ real facts. Your paragraph made me vomit just how deluded you either either by volition or the russian propaganda machine.
It is obvious, any "revolutions" in 21th century were made up by USA from scratch, all potilics know about it. Ukranian 2014 government capture had a budget of at least 5 bilion dollars, (atleast Victoria Nuland said about 5 billions)

And dude, it's not a black and white issue. You can just say "you're either with us, or against us". Do you realize there actually are people who dislike the actions of both the US and Russia?
agree, there many people, who dont have any position, but im talking about those, who are posting the propagandistic threads.

you completely misunderstud my point, i was saying exactly opposite in my page 2 post.
Currently in Russia there is too much freedom, you can freely do things, that would cause you be arrested in USA.

But, if world war will begin, only then Russia will enable the war-regime and it will be a good opportunity to punish any betrayers the same way they deserve or, atleast, to arrest them, just like these days USA does it with their citizens.

    on the Original Post:
Why not? if a war begins, you will have to go to the front, anyway you will not need an internet connection in the war environment, even if you live not in Russia, the war against Russia and other non-proamerican world would mobilize a whole world, China would, ofcourse, fight on Russia's side, because they understand, that an in final battle a real agressor should be finally destroyed, in opposite case usa would begin building their retarded and apocaliptic "new w0rld 0rder" project

The freedom to beat gay activists with a horsewhip at the Olympics?
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

And lets be honest, if you suddenly take away peoples access to porn, you are going to have a revolution on your hands in pretty short order.
You dont need the internet to watch porn. You could still go to the adult video store or theater, or make your own.
