Me? I eat it butterside down, so as to prevent crumbs from succumbing to gravity and falling on my shirt.
Anyone who eats their toast with the butterside UP is obviously an ignoramus that cannot grasp gravity.

But when you put your toast back down, you leave butter on the plate that could instead be on your toast. If you eat over your plate like you're supposed to that's where your crumbs fall. Crumbs, also, largely come from where you have penetrated your toast with your teeth so eating it butterside up or butterside down actually makes no difference. This is preposterous. I assume you eat your bagels cream cheese down too.

Butter side down if I wish to 'taste' the butter more. If not I will do butter side up. If I'm eating toast though it's a vehicle for whatever I'm putting on it so that means it's usually 'butter side' down for me.
