This bothers me to no end. There's literally nothing overtly sexual about that pose, and even if there is, why is that a problem? She's wearing an outfit that seems all but DESIGNED to show off her bottom. Why wouldn't she want you to look at it? Just because the trivial character development we have for her so far doesn't show her flirting? I have no problem at all with the idea of Tracer flirting, and it doesn't harm any other aspect of the character. Again, though, just looks like she was facing one way, and then decided to look at someone behind her without turning around to be snarky over the victory.

This feels like one person decided they knew this character better than the person at Blizzard that designed that pose, and Blizzard caved because we must protect da womyns from any and all potential offensiveness, no matter how minor.

That's a completely moronic thing to say about this game. Have you SEEN Widowmaker? She's pure sex appeal. She's the seductress assassin that'll use her body as a weapon every time. Make your arguments against Tracer having the pose all you want, but this is NOT an asexual game.

if a digital ass in a game bothers you so much you have to cry to have it removed then YOU are pretty fucking pathetic, fat neck beard loser

Can we talk about how Hanzo is doing basically the same thing, and the only reason it's not considered sexual to people like this is because he doesn't have hips? Well, that and he didn't choose to wear an outfit that accentuated his ass.

To be honest, I just realzied that most of the games I play do have overly sexualized females. And that's one of the main reasons I play them I guess ;D LOL

    NAILED IT!

Guess this means I should go around and put "CENSORED" signs over all the butts in town wearing LuLulemons or any woman wearing clothing that accentuates their figure. GOD FORBID a yellow butt or seven walk in to my coffee shop while I'm ordering coffee. There'll be hell to pay! And donuts.

Wait a minute, I'm not wearing any pants... DOES THIS MEAN I'M GOING TO BE REPLACED?!

a soft move for the soft generation..

but with this you can not create legends..

God I hate the social justice movement. If that was a man no one would have given a damn.

So, do I get to re-design the game as well, because I can claim Roadhog triggers me? I can be offended too right? Let's see... I'm a heavyset guy and I do not appreciate what's being put forth with Roadhog: huge bare belly with a jutting navel (ugh) and a gas-mask that resembles a pig snout -- and apparently he also snorts and carries on like a swine, vocally, as well. He's a fat, unintelligible, unclean "junker" criminal... I feel so offended right now!

What is the magic key to getting MY way? Apparently this person hit a nerve at Blizz with their Tracer post because, damn, Jeff was right on top of that. "Right away ma'am, we'll change it, don't send the Tumblrinas after us." I guess "fat" status isn't as protected or campaign-y as being a strong non-sexualized woman is now, or trans or whatever else is the "in" thing to crusade over currently.

Do you even know what that is?
Pandering is modifying your behavior to specifically cater to certain demographic.
Caving is giving up on something because of pressure.

The person brought up a legitimate concern based on real issues, like the established lore of the character and the fact that no one ever ever
ever poses like that unless its a model or porn star showing off their butt.
Except that they DID cave-in based on a minority view? Pandering, no not really, but caving, yes.

I have an idea, let's remove all aesthetics from the game because anything can possibly be a trigger for someone else. Widowmaker is too sexy. McCree smokes, that's a bad influence. Roadhog is fat. Bastion is a weapon of mass destruction. On and on and on. Every character should be put in a burlap sack and be given water pistols... because nobody can be sexy, cool, handsome, robotic, talking-gorilla, and nobody can use actual violence/explosives/bullets...

Do you see that this kind of stupidity effectively has no end? Is Blizz going to bend when anyone complains about anything?

Not sure why it is a problem, is not like they added 80 Pounds to her so she is not "pretty" or what ever. They jsut removed some stands that had no reason to be that explisit. Seeing her stand like that does not Add anything to your experinse.

Well it would be the same if you could follow the curves of his butt cheeks. You can't. Nice try 3/10.

I've got to say I love the new direction western entertainment juggernauts like Marvel/Disney and Activision/Blizzard are taking to improve the comfort of all players. For so long the superhero and high fantasy/roleplaying elements of gaming and comics have been dominated by men catering to men and it's cool seeing it be more welcoming to people. Sexualization has its place, and that place is in porn, not videogames. If guys (and girls) want to see tight-asses and sexy girls it is a point and click away to a porn site, I don't see the issue here.

I don't get what's ruined. I'm sorry you need random inclusions of sexy girls in all forms of media. Is this the product of Anime?

You are aware that sexuality, eroticism and pornography aren't the same thing and only related to each other, right?

There is a distinction between full-on porn and a tight body suit. You're basically generalizing and saying no sexy thing can be anything but porn which is a very archaic and regressive way of seeing sexuality, on top of being a fallacy.

Sexuality as a trait and not a focus is realistic, because believe it or not, people can like sexy things or sexuality without being total pervs, it is a very real part of what makes us humans. You can find a man/woman attractive without instantly going for the "gonna get inside of her" perspective. But I'm sorry that your apparently lacklustre comprehension of that thing you're so adamant on talking about is making you say silly things. The main problem with many aspects of current pop-culture is that sex is used in demeaning, controlling or marketing manners, not as something that humanity should see as what it really is: a part of us as a species.

While I think many of you became saltier than the Dead Sea over this rather trivial matter, the OP could have turned into a very interesting conversation without the involvement of the less emotionally balanced posters. It's made very obvious that neither side - omitting certain specific individuals - can and welcomes any form of debate, more so they strive to perpetuate and enlarge their echo chamber built upon hyperbole and name calling. Both of you radical bunch of cutes are why we can't have nice things - but please, keep thinking it's all because of the other side.

Edit: Also, quick note, are you saying that whenever you go to a gym and some women wear tight leggings that it's tantamount to starring in your own porn movie?

I have a young daughter that everyday when I wake up wants to watch the recall trailer again. She knows who tracer is, and as she grows up, she can grow up alongside these characters.
I don't know about the rational thinking of some people.... you're letting your daughter play a game where you go around shooting people, But cry when she sees a butt on a clothed character?!

I don't see you trying to get guys to put a shirt on. I see tons of ripped guys in entertainment. When I'm watching a movie with my gf and the dude takes off his shirt and is ripped I do feel a bit insecure and I bet my gf is checking him out and thinking hot damn. The difference is I don't fucking whine about it and try and have the movie or game changed because of my own insecurities. I bought a fucking home gym.

Maybe I'm the only one who appreciated the player bringing up the pose. I don't think female heroes should be reduced to sexuality. That's not fun and does not add to the heroicness of a character.

  17. #197
The game is being primarily marketed to young boys and men plp. And newsflash!!!!!! SEX SELLS!!! So anyone who thinks this pose wasn't added to help promote subconscious sexualization needs to take a psycology class. When you look at that pose of Tracer where do your eyes fall within 2 secs of looking at it?? This is how marketing works.
Notice how Zarya doesn't have a pose like this??? It's cause she looks like a dike and men don't want to see a butch lesbian in a pose drawn in a way that extenuates her big muscled ass. Notice how there are no poses of any of the male characters that show off their crotch or ass like this. There is a reason Tracer was picked as the "face of the game", cause shes young, attractive and wearing skin tight clothing.
Now i'm not saying that any of this is wrong, but please lets stop lying to ourselves about how we can't understand why someone might be offended by this. To any guy that says women should just get over it and stop being such a prudes about it then you obviously have never had to experience what its like to be treated as nothing more than a hole to put your dick when the mood strikes. You know why a lot of men are homophobes??? Because they fear being treated by men the way they treat women.

It's the fact they caved to the SJW ideology more than the pose itself.

"We understand that not everyone will agree with our decision, and that’s okay. That’s what these kinds of public tests are for. This wasn’t pandering or caving, though. This was the right call from our perspective, and we think the game will be just as fun the next time you play it."

They didn't. But i guess he's lying because you used your decoder ring to read between the lines.
