I believe Nintendo made an announcement stating that she was fired for a policy on working another job while working there, not for her tweets.

That would be better answered by child psychologists and development specialists. Human beings hitting puberty in their early teens doesn't mean they automatically understand their body and the potential ramifications of sex at a very early age. I mean we don't even hit mental maturity till around 25 and we have progressed away from ancient practices of child marriages/sex and for good reason.

Just one medical related reason off the top of my head is if a child gets pregnant in her early teens and while it is definitely possible, it is far more likely to cause complications and damage to her reproductive system.

From working in a bar, I can tell you that you might want to raise it to 35. Canada's AoC is 14+4 for under 18. 14-18, 15-19, 16-20, 17-21, 18+.

Thats sorta my point though. As far as age of consent and legal drinking goes, that magic '18/21' number is arbitrary. If you aren't mature, according to that poster, you shouldn't be having sex. But all 17 year olds aren't immature.

Likewise, if 18 was some magic number that child psychologists all agree on, then why doesn't every country adopt that number? Same goes for drinking age. Maturity and things are all relevant.
