I used to go to them with a girl I was dating. It varied really wildly from one place to another, and sometimes one night to another. When the atmosphere was right and the employees were having fun with it, they'd be great for generating sexual energy to take home and act upon. Sometimes the vibe in the club would be heavier with boredom, loneliness or mutual contempt, and we'd go find something else to do. I've been in one once, in Dublin. The women were pretty to look at but the whole thing was depressing as hell. I don't know if it was that place or if it's normal (was a very central and well known place), but when I came in with my group of friends, all the others were men who sat alone scattered around drooling at the girls, and the girls who weren't dancing were stood in groups chatting and yawning.

out here it's usually the opposite. the strip clubs tend to be outside city limits due to quite a few of the cities restrictions on how strip clubs can operate here.

I went with some friends for the first time a year ago and have no interest in returning. It's fun to look at naked women and all that but I felt like I was watching pornography in public.. with my friends. Just grossed me out. Nothing against the girls though, they provide a service people want but it's not for me.
