hmm. I made about a third of what he did and paid about 17,500 in taxes. Yet he bitches about corporations not paying their share. They at least contribute lots of jobs jobs and some products, unlike the Sanders scam.

Guys, a reminder for future shit flinging: If you have to warp facts and words so that you have a point, don't. Loopholes in the tax code fml.
Honestly, with the way he talked during the debate, it seemed like his wife did it for him but he did not want to say that so he kinda avoided it.

I bet Hillary paid more in taxes from her speeches than Sanders paid.

Then maybe speak to some agency? Or learn a bit about taxes. It's a big money saver.

Maybe its time to move away from income tax to something else. Not sure what but too many loop holes as it is now.

I do know that Texas does not do income tax, instead that have higher sales tax and higher property tax.

Eh, property tax and Sales Tax in Houston is around what you'd find in California, but CA has some of the highest state income tax in the country, while TX has none. That said, upper middle class wages tend to be higher as well, as a result.

Of the 205,271 he earned in 2014 he paid 27,653 in taxes that is a tax rate of 13.5% less then Mitt Romney. Yah the tax rate you claim Romney wasn't paying his fair share with

and in that return Sanders took advantage of loopholes and deductions he rails against the rich for using like claiming $8,946 in Unreimbursed Employee meals and entertainment expenses

and for being such a generious guy like he expects everyone else should be he only gave 4% of his income to charity. looks like he only wants to be generious with other peoples money. what was it that greedy Mitt Romney gave in charity wasn't it over 20%
i agree with you. taxes should be raised on anyone making 200k+.

Were you filing as a married couple with a single income? Sanders was. It affects your tax brackets in pretty significant ways.

Also, I find it hard to believe. Sanders' taxable income was $140,944. A third of that would be $46,981. Let's round up to $60,000 to give you the benefit of the doubt. With a taxable income of 60k, your total federal income tax, filing singly, should be $10,793. Even if you went with a third of his gross income, with no deductions on your part (which isn't a reasonable comparison), your income would've been 1/3 of $205,671, or $68,557. Round that up to $75,000, and your tax owed, filing singly, would be $14,583.

Either you're making well more than a third of what Sanders made, or you screwed up your taxes, or you're not including your own deductions, or you're including state taxes and taxes other than income, or some combination of those.

But doesn't higher sales tax hurt the less fortunate?

All of these posts damage controlling a guy that will literally be forgotten after a few months Hillary Wins the nomination. I just can't believe how obsessed some of you are over some guy nobody has heard of until this election cycle. Especially, those of you that aren't even in the United States.

But I guess the socialists have no bounds as to where they spread their propaganda where its like hardwired in their brains to support any politician that claims to support them and their sloth mentality.

I must admit, it is hilarious seeing Berniebros get so mad that democratic superdelegates aren't voting for a nominee that wasn't a democrat until 11 months ago over a 40 year democrat.

If Bernie was really as committed to his ideals as he says he is, he would have ran under a democratic socialist ticket.

Wouldn't that be third party? Or am I completely miss understanding the political party system?

We pay our congress people $174,000 per year. More if they are a "leadership" position. The get to increase it when they want. Stupid and it sucks. They also get this huge a pension for life too..Sucks.

Compromise would entail a give and take from both sides equally. That is what Bernie takes issue with that leads him to call both parties the same. Essentially it breaks down to this, the Republican side has a lucrative contract with the devil, while the Democrat side claims a moral high ground because they only sell their souls one deal at a time.
Why should we be ok with one, but not the other?
Why should we be ok with either?
Have we not learned time and again that corporate interest run counter to public interest?
Isn't the role of a democratically elected government to protect it's citizens AGAINST tyranny?
Doesn't that give you a pretty clear picture of who actually controls the government?
