I dont know, i could live without the best items. I would prefer an intrinsic reward over the "great gnomen killers epic staff of envy".. You know, a fun gameplay instead of the shoulders with the largest stat.
But i am sure thats just my personal preference here.
No, you actually got a lot of advantages in playing raids, not just the best items, but also playing with your friends, also playing in a organized group, with a challenge and the "yes we did it"-feeling. Organized raiding got three difficulty levels while the matchmade completely neglected and nerfed-to-oblivion version only has one incarnation, and still adresses the most players.
Actually, the devs focus on your kind of gameplay, and add the best raiding content ever. And still that isnt enough for you. And still everything needs to be exclusive for you.. you actually sound like a millionaire who is unhappy that others may have a car as well.. while you sit at your pool drinking pina coladas.
The real reason why raids drop the best loot is because Hazzikostas wants you to play raids. Operant conditioning. You are one of those who actually do it for the best items, so just feel conditioned.
Your argument literally is that you want exclusivity. Thats all.
It's funny, because there is a debate that can be had here. In real life, you and I would be considered republican or libertarian for thinking time and effort equal reward, and them socialist or communist in their view.
But what I think people fail to realize, when taking a socialist stance on something like gear. Is that in the world of warcraft, everyone has an equal chance to do everything in the game, there's no corruption, or racism, or any otuside factor that hurts the reward system in the game. Wow is essentially a free market of loot.
After so many people complained. Or lets say, some criers at the forums. And found an open ear with the devs. I think the devs should close their ears for envy, and give options for gameplay instead of trying to condition players to raid.
Mounts have also been part of raids. The most shiney white special snowflake mount always dropped from raids.
You should try to find something thats fun for you as well.
And the reason they give it out to people who don't want to try, is the same reason American Martial Arts hands out blackbelts to anyone who pays a monthly fee, and there's like 10 different belt colors. To keep the kids interested and happy. Because they have no adult concept of the true reward a black belt actually has. And real adults can see an adult with a black belt, and understand the dedication, while looking at a bratty 15 year old and understand they didn't deserve it.
In this scenario, you are the bratty 15 year old.
And by basically just handing out blackbelts to everyone who pays 100 dollars a month, you help destroy it's meaning.
I have a problem when a bot playing these quests can get decked out in full mythic gear in a expansion without stepping into a raid a single time compared to the people who actually are social, put hours and hours into organizing groups and guilds and throwing themselves at these challenges, and work for their gear, a crazy concent amirite?
And these bots running around in the world do not. they get rewarded too much for doing absolutely nothing.
Apple virtual world. Orange real world. Dont try to apply real world philosophies onto a virtual simplified world where nothing has a consequence.

The black belt has no stat. It is a prestige item. Your comparison is going to backfire. So just dont try.
Random chance of upgrading an item? Fuck that. Either make it 100% or not at all.
You are doing the same thing, but the person next to you get better things because he is lucky?
This is even worse than wf.
Not really. Just think about the idea mythic raids would drop the best transmog gear in the whole warcraft-universe. And character progression would be available anywhere.
Would you stop to play because your black belt is just the prestigious black belt and has no "+100 pwnzage" stat?
but you know that mythic gear looks different and objectively is better as it is rarer for transmog reasons right? theres prestige there that most people wont have the same kinda gear y'know, pride, that thing that most people don't have these days as they never accomplish anything, weird innit.
That could be easily changed. Just think about the idea any gear available in the open world would look like junk, and every items that drop from raids would look like as if the titans created them themself made out of blue and yellow steel. And then think about the idea raids also would drop exclusive mounts, as like "Super white special snowflake", the double as large flying horse!
that has nothing to do with the topic which is people being randomly rewarded mythic gear, which they really didn't earn 'ala Warforged gear, considering the hurdle that is mythic raiding, which again will force me personally atleast to camp these goddamn quests everyday just to get bummed by RNG because I want to bring the best possible gear I can to the raid to help the guild progress. which again turns into UN-FUN content real quick.
I honestly dont think its good for the game that everyone can get the highest tier of gear, this means that the progression of raids for everyone will be skewed because of the gear progression getting faster again, don't we already get like 10x the loot we used to before coins and such? its just taking out of the lifespan of an raidtier, contentpatch, call it whatever you will, for everyone playing the game.
Dungeons will feel pointless by week 4 because people will be running in ( hypothetical ) 880 gear pieces and dungeons only can drop 830 pieces (I dont know the ilevels dont killme).
What roahn said earlier about people earning black belts, working to prove their skill for years, and then someone else just goes and purchases one feels like shit considering you're just pulling down the guys accomplishments who worked hard for his black belt, and the guy buying it just buys it, doesn't earn it. it just cheapens the whole black belt.
It just don't feel right.
Here comes the best tip for you:
Don't. Just stop trying to maxmize everything. This system is not made for that.
Well, in your case it obviously extends the lifespan, as you are even willing to grind for the legendaries even if you cant grind for them.
