If Trump vilifies Muslims and Hispanics and basically puts a "guilty until proven innocent" sign over their head, it gives people fuel for prejudice. You can't genuinely believe that the idea of forcing every Muslim to register for their religion, and having illegal immigrant scrutinized will not have negative effects on their daily lives. If you do then you seriously underestimate how easy it is for racism to spread when given proper justification.

I don't think either party should mention race. Political policy should be judged on its own merit in relation to the national region, race has nothing to do with that.
