He easily manages to penetrate a breastplate, the most sturdy part bar helmet a knight would wear. Yes, he does not go deeper than one inch, yet it already shows why the thing Garona does is completely feasible. She uses a spear that is probably of far better quality than anything we have seen (Dwarves are one hell of blacksmiths, not to mention numerous exotic materials found in Azeroth), and the orc has a very simplistic wooden buckle.

That's doesn't make sense. Mail already deflects cutting attacks. You can even see it in the history of weapon development after mail (and later plate) started to become the prevalent armor the usage of arming swords as a primary weapon dropped and they made way to the more specialized armor piercing designs like spears, halberds and pole-axes.

Pretty much the only way you're going to get trough plate armor is either by lance from horseback, eye slits of the helm (or open visor) or trough the gaps that are protected by only mail and arming doublet (or gambeson). There's no way you're doing any lethal damage trough a piece of properly made plate armor by mere thrust of your spear.

The plate itself (the material) was as far as we're concerned impenetrable. The design as a whole (gaps and helmet) wasn't. The plate armor of the later periods was actually so good that the number of captive knights skyrocketed because it was just so hard to kill them (there are recorded accounts of this, see the Battle of Agincourt).

Both of the linked videos are proving my point. That is no lethal damage. An inch of penetration wouldn't even scratch you.

The orc isn't wearing plate. Furthermore, this is Garona stabbing the orc with a spear. Garona is going to be stronger than the average human.

An Inch of penetration on a stationary target. And under that breastplate you're going to have mail shirt and arming doublet.

I'm not really criticizing this movie for it, like you said it's a fantasy setting. It's more about the premise of hollywood's general take on armor in general.

Can't listen to sound atm, but I like this better than most of the other trailers I've seen.

I'm talking about the fact that 99% of the times the armor has no use in historical or fantasy movies. It's only there for the decorative value. If it's a bad guy or someone not that important any weapon cuts trough the armor like it's butter. If it's a good guy or someone important they just don't get hit (or do but not in a lethal spot). I don't see why a fantasy movie couldn't remedy itself by having even somewhat realistic physics. The fantasy genre is not a free pass to ignore everything we know about armor or weapons.

QQ. China the only country to get serious trailer music. Btw, any idea if it's official source?

Looks like the "International Trailer" is the "Trailer 2" of Europe, so actually also Europe gets serious music.

It has a good number of views and the channel has posted a ton of other Chinese trailers.
I assume it's official, but I'm not sure.

Okay you lost me. What I'm saying is that the Chinese Japanese have the most epic music to date. We westerns need some love too.

    It's the same track... zzz...

The music playing in the Japanese trailer is the music from the International trailer and the end of the trailer it plays the music from the first trailer we got

I just found the dubstep music from the second trailer and on its own it is an awesome song. It just doesn't work well on a fantasy movie trailer XD

Never realized it was Prodigy since I haven't listened to the latest album. Now I can't stop imagining the trailer with Smack My Bitch Up or Their Law in the background
