There isn't a problem with diversity. There is a problem when you create diversity to appeal to such a vocal minority of people. Better yet, changing characters that have existed for many years a certain way, that are now "different"t to appeal to the vocal minority. Luckily, that isn't happening here, just stating.

That's because Blizzard's official forums aren't exactly a safe place for trolls.

I always find it funny when people pretend they can't enjoy games that don't have characters like them.

It's weird. I've been able to enjoy most games that don't have fat white gay men in them.

It's almost like I'm not an egomaniac who needs to see myself represented to like something.

If its not happening here then why are all the characters diverse?

See thats wrong, I love other cultures and races. I am from Canada and we have a hugely diverse population and I would say its ignorance not seeing a skin colour or noticing a different culture. You should respect someones race, culture and sex and embrace them, Not ignore it.

I meant the later part of my comment with changing characters. Sorry, I should of split that up and phrased it better.

Which is the point i'm making. I am sick of games having the same dull and drawn out characters in every game. The Caucasian straight male soldier, the skimpy dressed caucasian girl and their cocky african american side kick whos the best friend of the main character. [Call of Duty & Halo]. As you see, Overwatch was MADE WITH diversity! Thats the best thing about it! So many different personalities and such, it is why the game is so successfully artistically and lore wise in the first place!

Would love for them to just say that Soldier 76 and Reaper were once lovers and that's something else that fuels their current hatred. Then they wouldn't be a stereotype, just two dudes who liked each other.

I understand racial diversity because you cant really get past it. A white character is white and a black is black

Sexual diversity? No. I dont get it.

This is a computer game about shooting eachother. Its not a fucking teenage forum or porn movie. As far as we should know every single character could be gay or straight. Or like animals. Or whatever. We shouldnt even get into it because it doesnt even fucking matter.

If all of them wore full body outfits with masks aswell we shouldnt know what race they where either.

Stop trying to make games have political statements PLEASE

This is the kind of sanctimonious lunacy that has people supporting Trump right now. And honestly, I get it. I would side with almost ANYONE to see this masturbatory nonsense expelled from society.

By the way, there are only two sexualities. Oh, and a spectrum of perversions. Here's to hoping the next Blizzard title has some beastiality, wooooo diversity!!!

I did not say to ignore other races, cultures ect, I said we should not look at a group of people, characters whatever and point out their differences. Yes everyone is indeed different but that isn't something that others should point at like its a good OR bad thing. Making a thread about the fact that characters in a video game are diverse is a problem because it shows that people intentionally look for these differences and point them out.

You are making it a political statement.

Maybe Blizzard just wanted to include a gay character, because, you know, they exist?
