I live by my personal values, and one of them is commitment to people and groups I know. In a group project, I wouldn't jump ship if things begin to look bad. I don't see BREXIT as any different. Leaving the other Euro countries to their fate in these troubled times makes a bad impression of us Brits. I believe in unity and say it's a very real possibility for humankind. We'll just be taking a step back from that if we go independent.

Just to throw this out there, the company I work for, employees more than 5000 people in London, and if Brexit happens they are moving 4500 to Berlin, leaving a very small portion behind just to cover basic needs. I guess that doesn't work in favor of UK's economy, but again who cares... its British people voting, if they believe by getting out the EU things gonna get better, well let them do it and see.

The money the EU will want, is the EU money, which they will have an easy time to take, they can simply stack enough 'out of EU regulations' onto it until it is unprofitable.

Incidentally the UK was always happy to convince the other EU member states to do this so EU matters would be handled in the EU (read: in London and not in New York). I do not think these states will think it in their best interest to take those back if the UK leaves, and the UK wouldn't have a vote on the matter anymore.

You seem to have an unique defintion for tourists when free welfare requires six month of work in the country first.
I'm not sure I would go to the UK for health reasons anyway, I'd rather stay in a country where they aren't understaffed and I already have my health insurance and the state guarantees me quite a bit of health care anyway, even if I had nothing.

That is not true.

The problem is not in the EU and when you say health tourist you cannot be serious in putting that together with the EU.

I live in France now with my wife.

The health service in France is miles better than in England.
- we can choose our family doctor.
- we can see our doctor same day and the doctor will see you and take his time. I have had sessions with my GP that lasted 50 minutes.
- you can see a specialist same day or within 2 days by taking an appointment DIRECTLY.
- with work you have a "mutuel" that covers ALL medical costs, including teeth work, eyes and glasses (every year) etc...

and I could go on and on.

So really there is zero reason to talk health tourism within a union of countries especially when other countries happen to have a better health service lol.

The issues with the NHS are internal to the UK and are a due to our politicians, not Europe.

Time to get some balls and realise that certain services are NOT meant to be privatised and it is the responsability of a government to deliver on them: health, public transport, energy, education for all , are some of them.

Already got my house set up in Norway so if UK do's start to look undesirable outside of the EU I'm done with it, Unity is stronger we will cause mayhem if we decide to crumble now and the outcome won't be good for anyone except the rich and well off.

Even if somehow the UK manages to extricate itself completely from both the EU and the common market (EEA) [the latter which Leavers don't realize will be even harder], they'll just end up with a significant brain drain of their best and brightest both during the long period of uncertainty caused by the votes plus even more so after the UK actually isolates itself ...

Health Tourism is thought to cost the NHS somewhere between £110-£280 million a year. It's fuck all.

Yea their are a dozen of other countries I would go for healthcare instead of UK....You know that your racist when you use arguments used by racist of centenaries which have zero truth in it back then and zero truth in right now.

Quick google search shows that the UK isn't in the top 10 by any ranking, so why would anybody go their? It's like Americans arguing that their old system was so good that when people got kicked of their plans it was a show of how good the system was working.

The UK NHS/health sector is one of the most dependent on immigration, not just EU immigration, and has been for decades.

Also, in terms of health tourism, the UK is easily a net exporter of medical tourists.

Much more popular destinations, especially for non-EU nationals are Germany and Eastern Europe. For EU nationals, France (the leading health care system in the whole world) and Germany (oncology specialists), Eastern Europe (cheap dental) and Spain (for certain operations like fertility) are also more popular.

If after EU falls apart the West will not realise the mistake of welcoming 3rd world immigrants by the millions, then let them take their own path and their nations to fade out.
