That's disgustingly messed up.
Since Cameron was slated to visit, news coverage here is focusing on Gibraltar and the sovereign claim more than about the shooting. Which is also bizarre.
Fuck this shit. I'm done for today.
You're welcomed. It usually triggers a giant debate on the matter of guns versus no guns (think there's a thread in off-topic that has some 1000 pages only about that)
Forgat to say, no matter what your opinion you have on it now (I think it's obsolete honestly) it made sense when they made it because it was written with two things in mind:
-that regular citizens would have access to weapons in case the British Empire would attempt another invasion, thus fighting a guerilla like warfare and not falling under their leadership again (obviously this is not the case anymore, and if another nation attempts an invasion if USA's army can't protect them after how well they're funded I doubt some more people with guns could)
-that regular citizens would be able to overturn the leadership of the country if it moves away from democratic values (while originally a good idea, I doubt some people with guns could overthrow the government of the USA anymore if the USA deploys tanks, rockets and planes).
Still, it's quite a weird argument at times, since when the state wants to limit access to automatic rifles, the gun owners say "look, they want to overturn the Second Amendment, proof that we need guns to resist against a possible tyrannical government trying to overturn laws to control us".
There's a giant organization in the USA lobbying for gun owners, think it's called NRA, which further makes the gun situation in the USA remain as it is.
Look at all the classy people using the fresh death of a british MP as an argument for the gun debate.
Go take a good hard look in the mirror. Disgusting people.
There have been a few flintlocks with multiple barrels and this one *could* maybe pass for it? http://www.forgottenweapons.com/lorenzoni/
Damn I live in leeds #tooclosetohome
It ties in rather conveniently to the governments current attempts to further restrict firearms based on police meddling.

I'm sure there are plenty of criminals supplying Victorian ammunition like pinfire rounds.Martin Parker, lead forensic scientist for NABIS, said "a clear trend" for criminals to use antique weapons in crime went back to 2010, with ammunition being specially made for them.
Currently, old guns can be bought from specialist shops and online, with ammunition available on the black market.
Well, when I think it was Birmingham Police tried out the US microphone system to pinpoint gunfire, they found it was pretty much useless precisely because the guns criminals use over here are old/home made/modified replicas, and therefore don't make the same (or any kind of uniform) characteristic sounds.
Either way, the guy had long-term links to the far right who've been given far too much airtime and pandering by the mainstream right in this EU referendum campaign. :/
This is sick. Obviously media sensationalism and an extremely vicious political debate afffted this man.
This should make us think.
