I'm just requesting you don't imply that aiming in OW is as skillfull as aiming in other FPS games. Please. It's a lie or retarded statement made out of ignorance. Even if you play the snipers.
But I understand im probably engaging in conversation with someone who is likely to not understand that fully by this point. Despite all the facts.
Yeah I mean, Team Fortress was certainly never a competitive game.

So you're too busy wallowing in self-pity to actually come out and say what your objection is, I'm going to have to assume you're moaning about the tick rate?
I'll never understand why fanboys/girls have such a hard time understanding the importance of remaining factual. It has nothing to do with self-pity.
Tick rate is low. Fact.
Hitboxes are bigger than necessary. Fact.
Headshots are made simpler. Fact.
Stating otherwise just makes you look stupid. Sorry.
The game is still fun and can be an attractive esport.
Didnt read the pages but..
It cant take off cause there is no "wow" factor.
By that i mean the "wow" factor watching a tournament gives you of how well the players play/better than you.
Its basically a FPS MOBA which means its neither pure FPS to require AMAZING REFLEXES and insane plays like CS:GO and its not a MOBA that requires all sorts of plays depending on the MOBA (Dont wanna start a flame war so not mentioning specifics.)
It will have its tournaments and core players and everything but there is simply no "Wow" factor, its not like you cant do the exact same thing.
Yes there are a few heroes like Genji/Widowmaker but thats about it that they can do some "wow! wtf did he just do!" but the rest of the heroes dont really have that.
The game is made to have a low skill cap since its a Blizzard game.
They really cant though, most heroes are made to require 0 aiming and i saw how the game was changed since the first day of Closed Beta, was one of the lucky ones to receive it 7-8 months ago, i had enough of Overwatch, trust me.
Everything was changed pretty much after the third big invite they did around November/December before they shut it down for a month, people simply couldnt play it the way it was.
Thats why they added "passive" Ultimate increase, and some other changes mostly to help with the "lack of aim" most people have, i literally remember 10 minute games which some people didnt manage to press their Ultimate once, they were that bad, they couldnt aim to increase the % thats not fun for the average 0 skill gamer, end of story.
And its mostly the reason i refused to buy the game..If i wanted to play a cancerous game where others will ruin my gaming experience, i have DOTA/SMITE/LOL/CS:GO , i dont really need a game where the skillcap is so low that i -will- end up meeting players that horrible and there is really no excuse being horrible in Overwatch, everything is made so you are AT LEAST useful A BIT!

Wow, you guys are getting so worked up over this thread, even getting banned and making personal attacks. I don't actually even care. Just killing time on the boards at work, haven't even played the game in almost a week.
I think ults just won't make this game an interesting e-sport/MLG game. Some disagree some agree. Don't really care either way.

I think this is pointless. When I see things like "All video games have movements -- by Nevene" I realise there is even wider gap than I thought between those people and people who play games for more than just pretty pixels. OW has a fraction of movement freedom of what Q3 can give you (not even mentioning cpma cause that's on whole another scale).
I treat terminology like "pleb", "noob" etc like "racist". When a person says that all black people are stupid - you can go ahead and call him a racist. When a person says that OW in its current state is pro scene ready (with 20 tickrate, iwinults and serious balance issues)- you can call him a pleb/noob. That's it.

THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT -- you started a thread that expressed your opinion and in turn, asked for everyone else to express their opinion. you knew what evil you were bringing upon this forum!!!
ha ha ha, this is the internet, where random strangers attack each other from behind our computer screens in our offices, bedrooms, basements, and livingrooms.

Overall, there's just no way of telling if this will be a big E-Sport success, it's just too early to know that.

Yes because absolutely ridiculous tickrate which will go in to the history the same way Daikatana did is a product of my imagination. The notion of that it has to be even explained, points why this topic is pointless.
There is nothing wrong with playing for pretty pixels/fuck around - I do this all the time (Robocraft, Warframe etc), but trying to defend a game which was designed in accessibility and mass-play in mind as some future pro-scene-esport revolution is insane.

First of all, MLG is an e-sports organization that hosts events and stuff. And MLG is not very big like it was when Halo and WoW were big e-sports. Second of all, it has potential, and could be good. The biggest issue is that Overwatch is designed to attract casual players who don't really care about high-end competition. It is also kind of odd to spectate.
You kinda fell back to just the tickrate complaint, what happened to the rest?
Because the tick rate is something that's not a "massive overhaul" like some people are complaining about requiring. And I still don't even see a reason why the tick rate means it won't succeed, people just tend to default to "Other games have higher!" and "I don't like it that low!".

You know what's sad/funny/retarded about this all? We want the same thing - a game where one can have fun but also "try hard"/play more seriously. The most funny thing is: if things would go "my way" most people wouldn't notice it. Same way everyone could pick up Quake 3 and just have some fun over the weekend on q3dm17 while trying to push off his buddy from the edge in to the abyss - BUT on Tuesday he could go all out and push the limits of the game engine while breezing through maps using strafe-jumping, rocket jump, plasma climb, nade-push and land absolutely hardcore rail shots at max speed.
For me OW stopped half way....
