Croatian defence was just standing around ball-watching though, dunno if tired or what, but that's ridiculous. Props to Quaresma for being alive.

Surprising result with how the tournament hass gone so far but Croatia weren't exactly great tonight either, lacked real quality in the final 3rd.

I guess their game against Spain was indeed a moment of excellence, compared to Spain playing their worst game in ages.

Feel bad for Croatia to lose like that, but at least its not in PK shootout.

Boring match though. I took a nap at halftime.

It's boring as fuck as an outsider i get that but tell me one player of Portugal that didn't do his job almost perfectly other than André Gomes please. Ronaldo was always with 2-3 man on him also, remember that.

Same for Croatia players, they did great! Props to all of them and their fans!

I doubt you can wreck Poland, they have strong defense and in from goalkeeper/s. If anything, I think Poland may have slight advantage.

There were ZERO shots at the goal in the regular time. How is that perfect to you?

Croatia defending Ronaldo and Nani really well, same on the other side.

There goes my favorite. Smart tactics by Portugal, but unwatchable game.

Tactically it was excellent by both parts.

But I hear it wasn't interesting to watch. PSV - Atletico was also called a tactical masterclass but wasn't called boring.

Congrats Portugal. Our coach lost the game by insisting on Mandžukić for 85 minutes (or at all). He literally didn't do anything. The game was quite good though. Lots of steals, lots of passes, decent defense and blocking on both sides. Don't really care about the tiny number of attempts on goal. I'm not a huge fan of football, but I think our players really have every right to be sad.

But seriously. The Croatians might be disappointed.

The most disappointing thing, however, is Will Grigg not getting a single minute of play.

It was very tight, Mandzukic couldn't do anything in the same sense that Ronaldo couldn't, the centre backs of both teams were flawless. We also lucked out a lot to the end, right before the goal you guys had that ball against the goalpost.

Guys, did u ever play 11vs11 or have father/friend/brother/wtv who did? Like, for real now. No jokes or hating. Straight question. I can say i haven't played more than a few months in a local team, i switched from football to karate but many classmates and close friends play in clubs and i went/go to watch lots of games with them and they explain all the tactics and how the players feel in those moments of intense tactical games that are 0-0 till the end. Also felt that in the few games i played. It's boring outside but inside the pitch it's an amazing adrenaline when the game is so evenly matched and the amount of sync is ridiculously high, specially at this level and with 2 strong teams. Both teams deserved to go through. They are in the top 8 of the tournament for sure. Portugal ended having a bit of luck that lacked in the previous 3 games, specially in the last one against Hungary.

I really love the EURO/WC threads of MMO Champion every 2 years because for a gaming site it's really active, even more than some specific football forums and that's amazing but i wish there was people here that could analyze the game more deeply tactically and not only see the bad things and the obvious things.

I am no specialist but damn...

At least Ronaldo does things with the ball during the game. Mandzukic has been the same for years, he just waits for a ball from the heavens to accidentally land on his head and magically bounce into the goal. When it works, he's a national hero (whatever), but when it doesn't he's useless for anything else. And it hasn't worked when it mattered in a very long time.

Thanks, mate. You guys also deserved to go further, we should have met in a semi-final or something.

I actually don't remember a lot from him during CL games that involved Juventus.
