Is how we normally write in Sweden.
Older people sometimes write it out differently.
I.e
6 Juli -16
In Sweden the number comes first. "6('e) Juli" instead of "July 6(th").
Is that how you actually say it when someone asks you what day it is?
"Blimey, old boy...would you happen to know the date?"
"I do indeed know today's date, my good man."
"Would you be so kind as to share it with me?"
"Indeed. I would be most happy to do so"
"I am glad to hear it."
"Would you like me to tell you now?"
"That would be the dog's bollocks"
"Very well, I shall proceed to tell you the date immediately. It is the 6th day of the month of July, in the year of our lord 2016."
"I am in your debt sir"
If you seriously think about it, the American way is actually small/medium/large since there are only 12 months, that have anywhere from 28 to 31 days, in a 4 digit year. Smallest number is 12 medium number is 28 to 31, and then largest is 4 digits. We use smallest number, not time as a unit for determination.
when all else fails, read the STICKIES.
Dd/mm/yyyy
Day/Month/Year. Its the most logical. From the smallest to the highest. Month is often not even that relevant.
The logical way
Friendly reminder nation bashing is against the rules. It's fine to discuss how you write the date, it's fine to debate what way is more logical, what isn't fine is flat out insulting other ways of writing it. Please keep it civil.
