Is this a new bug or what?
Is this a new bug or what?
I raised this a while ago on Blizzard forums, got no response.
sap seems to start auto attack.. maybe it's something similar?
maybe they reclassed them as openers?
sap on the other hand is a cc?
kind of funny, that after all these months things are still bugged that ruin gameplay completely, you know the old song:
99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs, you take it down patch it around, 127 little bugs in the code.

Macro or not, I couldn't get sap to turn on autoattack.
Just adding another +1. Pick Pocket is putting me in combat; Sap isn't.
The weird thing is, I can still sap the target I pick pocketed (meaning the target isn't in combat, just me). It also doesn't attack me if I pick pocket without a sap.

Yesterday I started auto-attacking my target I was pick pocketing. I dunno what I did (my button to auto-attack is not even close to the pick pocket one). Maybe we are doing something else that triggers it...
Might have right-clicked it. Hum. Possible! I'll have to pay attention to that. Continue my attack from a previous target, nah. I usually walk around stealthed, sap, pick-pocket and continue on my merry way.
I still have auto-attack on my side bar just because sometimes I check if I was still auto attacking... It's a bit of an icon present as a relic of time
Pick Pocket is not triggering an auto attack. It puts you in combat for a few seconds but you do not attack. If you did then you would leave stealth. You don't leave stealth. You can see in your combat log that you're not attacking.
You cannot sap target dummies, they're immune. Sap does not trigger an attack, and it does not put you in combat.
I surmise that you have macroed Sap together with something else to see the behaviour you're experiencing. Use it directly from the spell book and you will see.
