[Megathread] Pokemon GO

Feel the same. They stripped all the fun parts of which made pokemon fun and made you have zero interaction in the gameplay. Then they rip features away, instead of fixing them like normal developers tend to do. I'm level 19 and i just can't see myself sitting near 3 lure modules all day catching the same pokemons over and over again

I think the game would be more fun if it was more like the main games. Like, if you could use the Pokemon you caught to battle wild Pokemon, weaken them so you have a better chance of catching them, and gaining XP for your Pokemon.

Also in the main games, there's stuff to do BESIDES catch Pokemon and battle in gyms. You could go a casino. You could enter a radio contest. You could enter your Pokemon in contests.

I do not understand, I have someone arguing against me that removing the footprints and tracking was great for the game, and to just go by the order of the list because that tells you what's closest.

What part of "tracking was disabled" did you not understand, person.



I'm not sure I've played a game that's punished players more and more with literally each patch/change. Can't wait to see people soon just finding where several pokestops overlap, luring them and using an incense rather than walking around because it's more efficient for farming.

Has that list ever actually worked? It doesn't seem to for me. Never seems to have. A squirtle I tracked using a map was 1st on the list for about 4 blocks despite a pidgey and 2 weedle spawning before it.

It used to. You know, when the footprints actually worked too. Since then, nope. Any "order" to the list appeared to be completely random.

People having dragonites a few weeks into launch clearly rustled some devs jimmies.

But this is the worst kind of nerf though, because everybody who already has their good stuff gets to keep it. There's a cluster of *FOUR* gyms near my house. Level 36 leader of all four gyms, four Dragonites over 3000 cp each. Sounds like a damn cheater, but whatever the case, I sure as shit am never taking any of those gyms back.

How long does maternity leave last? I mean if it's for an extended period, wouldn't you imagine they would promote/hire/assign a person to temporarily fill the position. PR is a huge part of the gaming world, kinda dumb to be without. Likely bullshit anyway, Niantic has always been horrid at communicating with their playerbase.

Amateur company is amateurs.. There is no communication, they are just removing stuff that is broken instead of fixing it, they are shutting down 3rd party sites that actually fix their problems by making something that work.

This game won't last long now. I was really hyped about the fact that they would release new generations every 6th month to keep it interesting. But the game didn't even last a month.

I come back to this thread to find a ton of doom and gloom.

I guess I can see why people are pissed about the tracker. I never really did go running after the tracked pokemon, just walked and caught what I ran into. But I can see why people who were running everywhere for specific pokemon (including into oncoming traffic, private property, etc) are peeved. I hope they bring tracking back in some other fashion. As they said, many of the features that were currently in were only temporary til they were able to implement their vision of what they really wanted. But the damage may already be done for many people.

Still though, once this game hits 1.0 that might see a revitalization?

I really really think it was a bad idea for Niantic to have an open test like this, allowing people to play and do in app purchases with what is essentially an unfinished product. Starbound just released its 1.0 version after having a long period of pre-release access. From what people who played it pre 1.0 are telling me is the game is a lot different and a lot more polished with a lot more features but a lot of the people who played it pre-release are already done with it and don't want to play the new version.
