Thumbs up YOUR definition of the perfect Content Patch?

What is YOUR definition of the perfect Content Patch?

    • What would go in it? (looking for just general content, not specific stories you want)
    • How long would it last?
    • Would it keep you occupied for 6-9 months?

For me, a perfect content patch would have:

-1+ raid (10+ bosses) (could be broken into 2 separate raids)
-1-2 New Dungeons (the ICC patch had 3 new dungeons, the DS patch had 3 new dungeons)
-New Quests. Preferably a few story line quests that take skill and building a group to complete
-World event - this is pipedream at this point, but it would be cool to see something like how the Naxx patch in vanilla had floating necropolis' flying above major cities and zones and undead spawning near them.
-New Faction / reputation - Isle of Quel'danis had a new faction
-New Zone - Isle of Quel'danis in BC, Isle of Thunder / Timeless Isle in Mop, Tannan Jungle in WoD. Isle of Quel'danis was the best, because it spurred great world PvP and had a ton of stuff to do.
-New Daily Quests - See Isle of Quel'danis.

If each content patch had this list, truly it would be a perfect content patch.

A perfect content patch would be one that has a bit of new content for every kind of player we have in WoW.

5.2 and 5.4 are about as good as you can get.

A perfect content patch for me, has either:

    1.: A raid (Though, it isn't needed).
    2.: A dungeon (Though, it isn't needed).
    3.: A battleground/arena (Though, it isn't needed).
    4.: Questlines.
5.: Progression of zones (questline development).
6.: New features (even if they are unpopular).

FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

2 dungeons + 1 raid (11-12 bosses) + Open Area for questing (e.g. Tanaan). Frequency - once every 6 months.

Uneven major patches like 5.1, followed by a story tie in even major patch, like 5.2.

Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann

The fact that you use "-" in front of your numbers makes your post harder than it should be. Just saying.

Ot: player based content would be nice instead of time gated content. Other than that....new dungeons every year. A new raid with harder bosses and less trash for 12 months or so and then new.

    World PvP Patch

    2 Guild Factions:
    -Mercenaries
    -Bandits

When you equip the faction tabard you became hostile to the enemy faction.

Bandits are the "player killers" and mercenaries are the "player killer killers" (the saviors of the weak and broken).
Each faction have unique rewards and transmogs.
Every time you kill the enemy guild you get a blood coin to trade for rewards.

You can conquer cities and places and your guild tabard will be displayed for everyone to see (you get extra gold for the time you conquer the place).

Basically everything with world pvp. Chaos. Some people just want to watch the world burn

5.2 = the best patch I've experienced in my time playing WoW. With 2 or 3 dungeons to top it off, it would've been perfect in every way.

5.2 really. Isle of Thunder was really fun and ToT was a phenomenal raid.

Only thing that would make it better would be 2 or 3 new dungeons.

Sounds crazy but I like this.

Depends on which content patch it is.

I generally like them to rotate. Assuming we are going from the beginning of an xpack which contains raids and dungeons and all that jazz:

Patch 1: Raid content (whatever raid or wing they've held back)

Patch 2: Dungeon content leading to the next tier of raiding

Patch 3: Raid (next tier up) content

Patch 4: Dungeon content and new areas that tie into the final raid tier content

Patch 5: Raid (final tier) content

Patch 6: Prepatch for next expansion

Throughout these it's good to add new pets, factions, mounts, etc. for people to work towards. Plus all of the holiday events, etc. I'd also love for them to bring back some weekly raid quests. Go into a raid that is not current content and do something for a reward.

It should be like ICC or 5.2 patches.

1: An area to farm for whoever wants mounts/toys/pets/reputation/whatever else they seem relevant to exist, hopefully at least a small questline or two to make it fun for a few hours and relevant to the dungeons, something like 2 x questlines of 20-25 quests each.

2:At least 2 dungeons that drop catch up gear relevant to the new area, no RNG bullshit like Baleful or Timewarped crap.

3: Around 10 raid bosses, preferably split into 2 raids, nothing worse than cockblocking bosses some times.

4:New reason to WPvP, some sort of mount or event, or anything worthwhile, what the kid above suggest sounds fine as long as its limited to a specific area so people that dont want dont have to, should change every day or weeks depending on the "difficulty" of achieving such goal.

Frankly what WoW needs is a workshop like Steam has, or Neverwinter Online has, let the people create and the community vote if they want them.

Not items, not skills to create unbalanced crap but:

Dungeons, Raids and Cosmetics, i am pretty sure there are ton of people out there capable of doing that and WoW has the player base to actually succeed in the workshop department.

And we see quite often how people want to implement raids or dungeons from actual existing characters in books/lore etc etc or simply minor stuff that Blizzard doesnt have the time to do.

As example a Galakrond raid? Would be amazing.

Any sort of the Mythos/Ancient Wars etc.

    - Facebook Integration with Auto Link and Meme Generator
    - New Funny Hats for the Ingame Store, Like Potato Hat and Clownface Hat - has been so long since the last beautiful and well received hats.
    - New Fun Toys like the magic chaiselounge, Id sure like more furniture to place in the world and sit on doing what I do 90% of remaining time of a patch... nothing.
    - New Achievements... for example sit in each zone since classic for 12hours on your magic chaiselounge without bekoming afk at any time.
    - New Goldsinks to spend hard earned gold on, a casino maybe where you can waste billions at nonexistant chances.

    Now that would be cool.

    not

5.2 and 5.4 were perfect. I also want to see some new BGs.

Just make sure that players have thing to do.

~14 or whatever months of HFC was complete misunderstanding. In my opinion, they should have delayed Legion even by month or two, if they gave us some extra raid like half year ago. Legion would be later, sure, but at least I'd have things to do.
