What are you going to call Legion?

Why not LGN?

Vanilla > BC/TBC > WLK/Wrath > Cata > MOP > WOD > LGN

Because that wouldn't make any sense. Keep in mind that people are calling Wrath of the Lich King -> Wotlk, not WLK/Wrath.
So the pattern is -> use the first letter of each word.

If it's one word(like Cataclysm), then people will just short it Leg would be okay, but LGN? Don't think so.

Anyway - the name is so short and simple that I don't see any problem writing "Legion". I know that some people may be bored after saying "What do you guys think about Wrath of the Lich King" instead of "Do you guys like wotlk?", but One word - Legion? Nah.

It's just Legion. It's one small word, it doesn't need to be abbreviated.

It's unnecessary to abbreviate an already compact word. It's just two, equally long syllables, for Christ's sake. Which makes it even more stupid to simply drop the second, especially if the abbreviation ends up being a new word. Abbreviation shouldn't compromise readibilty and intelligibility. And if it's really needed, It would be much more logical and more elegant to simply emit the vowels and abbreviate to "lgn".

maybe... Legion ? since its no longer to speak than wrath, vanilla or anything else. doubt heavily that a lot of ppl will call Legion anything else than ... Legion.

Kind of a silly thread but I think that while the expansion is current most people will simply refer to it as Legion. Many referred to WotLK as "Wrath," or MoP as "Mists," while they were current even though their aforementioned colloquial abbreviations are now far more common. Thus, once the next expansion comes out, I can see perhaps some people using the shorthand "Leg" to refer to the expansion even though it isn't nearly as appropriate as the shorthand abbreviations of other past expansions.

In less fancy words, "Legion" for now, "Leg" possibly at some indeterminate point in the future.

Legion. Leg confused the crap out of me, especially when people go and use that as a shortening for "legendary" on top of it. Legion is short enough as it is, yeesh.
