The evidence will always be spotty until they start appearing en masse. (The current world power structure would benefit from supressing any Biblical evidence... think "Raiders Of The Lost Ark.")

Also, I personally would not want to live in a world with man-eating nephilim giants or locust fairies... but I don't let what I want to be true to get in the way.

So then... Where's it's corpse? Wouldn't a biblical giant that healed from wounds like a druid spamming tranquility be the scientific discovery of the century?

Oh, and healing or not.. Those soldiers must have had TERRIBLE aim to take that long to kill it. Bullets, especially military grade ordinance, do not kill by physically piercing vital body parts. They kill by imparting kinetic energy into the tissues of the target; the resulting hydrostatic shock causing a shockwave through the nearby soft tissue, bursting organs and blood vessels like water balloons. Even a 15ft tall man in superhumanly good physical condition would die from a single, well-placed shot at center mass.

Even if he could regenerate, and even if the soldiers were so astounded by his sheer badassery that they just sprayed wildly in his general direction, he'd still be floored by the first couple torso hits as all the internal systems vital for standing and moving around would be FUBAR, liquefied by 1,325 ft-LBS / 1,796 jouls of force from each and every 5.56 NATO round.

So based solely on the story about U.S troops having difficulty killing something, I'm gonna assume it's bunk.

To say nothing of the biological impossibility of a functioning, ambulatory 15ft human-like entity. Our upright stance isn't optimal for being huge; Big animals are quadrupedal (elephants) or have very large legs compared to the size of their body, and have heavy tails as a counter-balance to their upper torso. (T-Rex)

If a 15 ft tall human were to try and stand, it would collapse under its own weight before suffering traumatic brain damage from its heart being unable to adequately deliver oxygenated blood to its brain. Then it would die. Horribly.

Everyone seems to be missing the important part of the story. It killed (LT.?) Dan! RIP Dan.

Yeah...I mean, I don't have any military experience at all but I grew up in AK and moose there are up to 1500 lbs, it does not take an entire military unit to down a bull moose.

I found it odd that he referred to a fellow soldier as "Dan" tbh. Maybe it was due to a perceived need for anonymity, but most military people I've been around referred to fellow soldiers by their last name.

Also Lieutenant Dan was the best character in that whole film

There's also a bit about the "fairies" found in Mexico here too toward the end.
Yes I heard this story. He was Hagrid actually. Voldemort had turned him with black magic. A salute for old Hagrid goddamn that was a manly man with bikes and all but the desert changes ya you know?

    Ooh, fascinating!

Can giants live undetected in Afghanistan, or rather, a taller people with red flaming hair? Maybe, would be my answer. If you look at a map of Afghanistan, it's extremely desolate south of the city of Kandahar. In an area a little smaller than Sri Lanka you have five pityful villages that have little to no info and photos + they're all on the border to Pakistan. It's a dry region that's very sparsely populated if at all and documeted. Of course, if there are people living there - giants or not - how do they survive? Maybe the caves have plenty of water? Afghanistan is rich in rivers, maybe some of them run underground?

When these army people called for medvac (or whatever) did they mention the giant during radio contact? If they didn't how did the people at base know to send two helicopters?
Did none of the army people ever go back to the cave?
Why can't they pinpoint an exact location?
Is the US army really hiding the truth from us?!

And before you go ahead and think I belive in UFOs and nine-eleven being an inside job, no, I don't. I just think it's fun that we haven't discovered everything. Like when I learned that people live all the way north in Canada (where "summer" consists of water almost not freezing), the people of the Andaman islands that want no contact with the outside world, or why a rowing boat washed up at Bouvet island (world's most isolated place and belongs ofc to Norway) - those mysteries intruige me. It's like I want to travel to that part of Afghanistan myself, right now, and see.

    @Faenskap

Why would it be a mystery that a rowboat would wash up on Bouvet Island? The Antarctic Circumpolar current would blow shit directly past that island on a daily basis, and a recurring basis each lap around Antarctica.

I must admit I didn't give the Antarctic Circumpolar current much thought, so thanks for clearning that one up! In fact, I had never heard about this current. But it just fit the whole "mystery" part a bit better if some people on one of the countless ships that disappear would manage to get themselves on the row boat and end up on Bouvet island and by the time other people arrived, they would've been long gone and no one would know who they were.

That would be amazing. Someone should legit do a military/fantasy novel mashup where military operatives go out and defeat random fantasy creatures. Aka Tom Clancy with dragons.

Hm... It really doesn't work like that. There is a practical limit to how high a human can grow. And it's hard limits, related to muscle density, which limits the practical size and pumping capacity of the heart, bone mass etc.

You literally can't simply upsize a human to 8ft+. It just won't work. As soon as you pass a certain limit you start running into problems with bones, muscle mass, weight, cardiovascular capacity etc. What you end up with is a very dysfunctional and sick human.

Edit: That dude in the hoody does not sound (talk) like any vet I know. 2 in the chest 1 in the head is movie shit. He sounds full of it.

Otherwise, interesting campfire story. I am fond of Nessie myself and hope to god it is real.
I concur. The guy seems full of movie shit.

By the way, I'm a big, big Nessie fan. I even dream of Nessie (well, that's a little far-fetched, but I know you know what I mean...I do day dream though)

Why would any creature that lives there have red hair lol?
I wouldn't be surprised if there were larger humanoids out there, but they are still subject to the other environmental conditions that every other living creature is.
If you live in the Afghanistan desert your hair will be damaged and darkened by the harsh sun and dry climate and your skin will be brown and dry.

Would be a lot more realistic if there was simply giant humanoids being kept as experiments or something. Not wielding a shield and mace like in that artist's depiction lol.
Red hair is plausible. Greek historian Herodotus describes the Budini of Scythia as having red hair. Cimmerians were described as having red hair too.

Dude, stop. A steady diet of this nonsense is bad for your mental health.

Man made global warming impossible. Lunar landings fake.

But giants, angels, and American Heroes battling them in the deserts plausible? Really?

This is not "information". It's stupid shit.

Plus...what the fuck does the Euphrates and Kandahar have to do with each other? I mean what the fuck? They aren't even the same historical/ethnic area.

I thought conspiracy theories weren't allowed on this forum.

I wouldn't call Coast to Coast AM, Steven Quayle or WND as trustworthy sources, heh. I could as well just watch The X Files in order to verify the existence of aliens.
