If it bothers you so much why not boycott Japanese anime?
The age of the girl in the article was 17 which is the legal for marriage.

I noticed this went ignored @Tennisace.
Oh of course. Legal for marriage doesn't mean it's legal for them to be exploited dude -_-
Not to mention that this is just one individual from the article. There are more, many possibly much younger.

I fail to see the link. So what if I spend a couple minutes once in a while reading some manga.
--- Want any of my Constitutional rights?, ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
I come from a time and a place where I judge people by the content of their character; I don't give a damn if you are tall or short; gay or straight; Jew or Gentile; White, Black, Brown or Green; Conservative or Liberal. -- Note to mods: if you are going to infract me have the decency to post the reason, and expect to hold everyone else to the same standard.
This is really all about your ego, isn't it.
Fuck, that finally sunk in. Dense am I.
You SAY you are very concerned, just not concerned enough to post about it, eh? I bet you are VERY concerned about the cultural genocide you've inflicted on them too, right? I honestly doubt it, why? Because you are more concerned about women in Japan and the choices they make, you are more concerned with Spanish immigration, and a whole host of other things.
You really should stop exploiting women to get attention for yourself, its pretty disgusting.

So, Tennisace, what past trauma led to you treating females as if they're made of glass?
Not sure what the problem is here. These girls are free to choose whether or not they want to take this job. They are not being forced to do anything. I don't see where exactly these girls are being 'tricked' either - a girl is offered a part time job, didn't bother to ask what it entailed, followed a stranger to a location determined by said stranger, and then was shown what the job entailed, at which point she declined to take the job. There are no tricks involved here.
Secondly, these employers don't advertise sexual services because these services don't involve sex of any kind. This is a companionship or viewership service.
Third, there are no statistics mentioned that suggest that these girls are at a significantly higher risk of sexual assault than they would be in other circumstances.
Fourth, these girls are always free to leave or stop working if they are asked to provide a service that they are uncomfortable with.
Let Japan deal with this since nobody else has the right to tell a sovereign country what laws they can and cannot have. Why do people think they have the right to police the world when they cannot even police their own communities...and then they call others out for doing the exact same thing they are trying to do on other topics?
when all else fails, read the STICKIES.
