Trump insulted and demeaned hispanics, women, muslims, PoWs, the disabled, and our allies.

He showed an appalling disregard for our democratic (small d) institutions.

He encouraged the spread of nuclear technology and applauded Russia's hacking of Hillary Clinton.

And that's not the half of it!

Trump's supporters had a year to get off this crazy train. They rode it right into the station. When President Trump rides us into a completely stupid and pointless ground war in Syria to go slay the ISIS Dragon... when President Trump appoints a crank who isn't independent to the Federal Reserve.... when Mexico decides to start playing nice with China and Vladmir Putin lobs off more of Eastern Europe unanswered, yes... his supporters will own all of that.

America lost decades worth of moral authority today. It did it on the back of people who fell for a con artist.

I stand by _every_thing_I_said_ about the deplorables... the legion of losers. And believe me. We're just getting starting.

Phase 2 was supposed to be purging the Republican party of the Trumpkins. It looks like instead Phase 2 will be setting up shop in the Democratic Party to make sure they don't do something entirely stupid like make Elizabeth Warren the nominee in 2020. I will never find common cause with people who when Trump demeaned so many Americans, looked for excuses for him.

Whatever he does the Trumpists and republican party own it. If he doesn't act or fill the role of president they own it (lets face it trump doesn't come remotely close to having the capacity to fill the duties of president). If Trump starts building a wall and bullying Mexico they own it. If Trump starts targeting minorities they own it.

Its a horrid day but they way I see it republicans have just done to the whole of the USA what republicans did to California. The coming minority majority will never forgive nor forget. The end result is they have destroyed the republican party in the long term. The country will go blue and republicans will never moderate, and even if they try to non-whites will never give them the time of day. The republican party is almost certainly ecstatic now but wait 4 years or 8. Wait till they have to pay that bill.

So many people are handwaving away the basket of deplorable comment, or simply exclaming how true it is, while ignoring that it was as damaging if not more so than Romney's 47% quote. ... Clinton's callous comments about them really shouldn't be overlooked the way it has been.

Given all that Trump said throughout the election...it's either ridiculous or hypocritical (or both) that one comment could be so costly.

I think 25+ years of Republican smear tactics against her (some fair, mostly unfair) ultimately cost her more than that one comment.
