So a president saying he wants to deport all illegals is the exact same thing as a sheriff saying he wants to lock up all criminals.

The President prioritizes enforcement of laws. Obama prioritized deportation on violent criminals.

While just speculation, i agree thats what wouldve happened. This wasnt so much a vote for a racist, mysogynist liar, as it was a vote against the establishment. A vote against the same old politicians and backdoor meetings they wouldve gone back to after the obligatory public appearance where they try to fake a smile as best as possible. Its not relevant wether its true or not, what matters is that people believe it. Theyre upset, feel ignored and saw an opportunity to change it. The question when you have a bad foundation for a house is how long you try to keep fixing it until you demolish it and build something new from scratch. For a lot of people things appeared and felt bad enough to make that leap and see what would happen. While i honestly feel bad for the US and its citizens, i cant help but feel an "i told you so" feeling. You cannot ignore unhappiness and frustration this long and expect nothing to happen. Trump didnt fit the image that politicians from either side would want for their candidate, yet him winning proves that most politicians are very out of touch with ordinary people. You can rationalize, analyze and poll them, try to herd them the rigth way but in the end people dont stay sheep forever. At some point they grow up and want to make their own mistakes. I just hope in 4 years the country is still alive and democratic enough for people to build something nice from the pieces.

I agree that happened but in no way is Trump anti-establishment. He's a grifter and chancer who pulled a great big con job on uneducated whites who fell for his BS patter. The next few years will bear that out as he will be expected to implement his policies (wall building, replacing obamacare with something better, 35% tariffs on imported goods, bringing back manufacturing, punishing china, withdrawal from NATO, etc) that will supposedly make America great again. Either they won't be implemented, which will cause uneducated whites to turn on him, or they will and be deeply destructive to the US economy, which will again cause uneducated whites to turn on him.

He played the game and won by making BS promises that he won't be able to keep. Educated folks understand that already which is why Clinton won among the most educated. But the least educated don't.

Trump's platform is pretty big, look on his website if you want to see it. A lot of it deals with appealing to vets and working class voters, not fat asses on /pol/.

The fact that Breitbart played a big for Trump among his supporters had little to do with him getting the votes he needed in swing states. I'm not denying that Trump has alt-right ties but they were just a small part of the election and hardly worthy of crowning as the saving grace for Trump.
