Canada, things seem dicey in Europe at the moment. Alternatively, New Zealand (even though it's in an earthquake zone).

being a EU citizen myself i would be fine in >20 other countries because i'm alreday entitled to settle there. the thread question is somewhat easy to answer then, just move to the country next door and i'm golden.
Since the only thing that bothers me here in Russia is the weather - probably something warm and nice.
Some small island in Thailand probably.
First, I'll discount any of the countries that constitute the UK, as I assume the OP means the same definition as sovereign state.
If language wasn't a barrier then:
Norway
Sweden
Denmark
Finland
But since it is, probably New Zealand, Canada or Australia.

Well out of the warm countries it was the best feeling one.
Once you get away from places like Bangkok to some of the islands it is.
The people are very nice and helpful, but not intrusive like people in India or some Arab countries.
It's basically a live and let live place.
