In pretty much most of the non-traditional left wing ideologies on that list, they are advocated by prominent Clinton supporters and I didn't see much of her telling them to bugger off publicly.

Can you elaborate? I'm aware that some fringe nutjobs on all end of the spectrum lose a bit of representation, but the two most stable democracies on the planet - US and UK - use a system that at least heavily disincentivizes small parties and live very well with it.

If I was a politician and I publicly distance myself from the far right, then I have dumped them, so that anything they do or are known for, is not attached to me. By staying silent, because you want their votes, then you are taking up a position where everything negative those groups do sticks to you.

The left, not just in the US, needs to dump those divisive groups, they are more trouble than they are worth and all it takes is someone like Trump pointing out the shit stuck to the left and the left are fucked. When Trump started pointing out excesses in groups like BLM, then Clinton's strategy should have been to agree with Trump on those problems and cut him off, not stay silent.

The main thing I hope the left gives up is chasing donors rather than voters. They had this election but they actually managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory ignoring their voters and cheating to put an establishment figure that was more donor friendly up instead and screwed their own party in the process. Trump didn't win so much as Clinton lost and Trump was just the guy she happened to lose to because of her actions, she would have lost to anyone.

They actually have all the numbers to clean sweep on stuff, but they refuse to listen and think demographics is everything. If they want the younger generations to actually vote for them, they have to give them something to vote for.

You try to become Republican-lite, they stay home rather than waste their time. If they wanted to vote a republican, they wouldn't be a democrat and if they are an independent, they have no loyalty to a party anyways.
