Trump lays out plan to bankrupt the USA

I don't think anyone can say that fiscally draining the US economy of money and funding the military is a wise move; more over draining environmental/science/social programs is a smart move either. Trump is doing all of that and then some, and meanwhile going to porkbarrel infrastructure to loyal constituencies more than likely. He states he's going to lower taxes as well; so I don't see how this will lower our debt - something the GOP was stringent on.

But, hey, lets blow all the cash, and pour it down the drain on bombs, walls, and bridges to nowhere. I'm sure we'll be fine after all is said and done, right?

No, no, no, it's a good idea to spend billions more on jets that don't fly, destroyers that don't work, all of this for the sole purpose of bombing third world countries (because, even more than before with God-POTUS Trump, the whole concept of the US Army picking a fight with a country that have a military that might fire back is completely bonkers)

Who knows? Maybe he IS trying to bankrupt the US. If he is, I'd be curious to know what his motives are- besides shits and giggles, of course.

Its ok he can just declare bankruptcy again and start a new USA.

TLDR : bombing terrorists (read, usually speaking bombing a country that is next to the country of the terrorists, when you are lucky...) does not require billions dollars bombers firing million dollars missiles that still hits weddings. If you absolutely want to ''fight terrorists'' (hint : with the way USA fight, you will recruit 3 terrorists for each 1 killed) you don't need death machines that don't work

Neither the F-35 or the Zumwalt are actually perational, isn'it ?

Besides, why build jets that cost much more than the Rafale (hint : France is really not known for low cost equipment) when the only thing they will likely ever do is to fire missiles at people that don't even have radars ?

Well given the state of bridges, roads, etc, a lot of infrastructure does need rebuilding but it needs to be properly funded and spent in the right way. I doubt that will happen under Trump, it'll be borrow money to hand out as private sector bribes.

As for the bits he's cutting spending on its all the stuff that has high fiscal multipliers (it's a heck of a lot cheaper to prevent environmental pollution, than to have to pay for clean up + health consequences), to spend on utterly useless stuff with basically zero positive payback (tax cuts for the rich which will do absolutely nothing for the economy, and war toys that will be used to destroy economically useful stuff in other countries). But then republicans have a track record of extremely poor economic management - that's what happens when you base your politics on feels and outrage rather than science and facts.

For what reason does the US need a bigger military? Is it not supposed to be 'America first'?

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

i love clickbait trump threads that source a news site which is openly opposed to Trump and the republican party.

just to clarify though, it is a great plan and i would vote for him again in 4 years if he does this.

Perhaps it is all an innocent mistake - after all, since he was too stupid to grok the idea that healthcare could be complicated, and has demonstrated an inability to master 5th-grade spoken English, it's entirely believable that he's somewhere between pre-K and grade school on math, too.
"In today’s America, conservatives who actually want to conserve are as rare as liberals who actually want to liberate. The once-significant language of an earlier era has had the meaning sucked right out of it, the better to serve as camouflage for a kleptocratic feeding frenzy in which both establishment parties participate with equal abandon" (Taking a break from the criminal, incompetent liars at the NSA, to bring you the above political observation, from The Archdruid Report.)

Does it matter what the bias of the news provider is if the story is true?

For real though, wasn't the idea to reduce military funding and cut back on the army...?

Except any county that have a remotely competent military. You know, those people could get ideas, like firing back

Because, I hate to tell that to our American friends, but since 1945, the strategy of bombing everything that move have not worked that well against ennemies that were minimally organized.

No, the matter is not that the USA does not ''win'' the wars. The issue is that the deluge of costly hardware is not working as well as advertised against people using way cheaper stuff.

Unless you think all conservatives who don't like Trump aren't real conservatives or RINOs.
