None. I've never locked my door my whole entire life.
None. I've never locked my door my whole entire life.
My stuff is surrounded by walls, entry is gained through a locked door that requires a key possessed by me.
Never needed more than that. Pretty safe around here.
I have a door that locks.
I've found not having anything worth stealing, or at least nothing that looks like it's worth stealing serves as a pretty good security system.

I had dogs for 30 years. A few months past, my last dog died.
Within weeks, someone broke into my home for the first time EVER. They didn't know what they were doing; stole cash but left serious valuables alone.
Dogs are the best--THE BEST--security system, even if they aren't very intimidating.
Now, I have a couple Raspberry Pis hidden around, taking pictures and uploading images to a remote server: my very own jury-rigged surveillance system.

Nothing aside from a lockable door.
I live in a low crime area, so our home has little security other than the house rarely being completely empty.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, my dad's cabin has security cameras, a security system, a locked gate and fence around the entire property, motion sensors, flood lights, etc. All of that did fuck all when someone broke in and burgled the place and it took the police a half an hour to get there because it was in the middle of nowhere.
TL;DR: Don't buy a cabin in the middle of nowhere unless you are going to live there, people break into empty vacation homes.

They didn't know what they were doing, but found cash?
Axl Smith, is that you?! (only Finns probably understand this, google will help you though)Now, I have a couple Raspberry Pis hidden around, taking pictures and uploading images to a remote server: my very own jury-rigged surveillance system.
Devil's rope.
To all the people who say that they have door locks... well, do you also have blast-resistant windows? Because as my burglar proved, even the smallest window is as good as an open door. One brick and they were able to get through an 18" window frame.
She's guarding the place right now as we are at work, very feminine too.
