I STARTED using an ad-blocker and special web browser after MMO-champ's ads hijacked chrome and sent me to a pop-up laden sales site and set off every anti-virus and firewall alarm on my system.

Sorry MMOchamp, if you want me to turn off my defenses, maybe you should not use such shady advertisers. You guys and WoWhead are literally the worst in this regard.

Right click the pop-up, and choose "Block Element" through uBlock or Adblock. Repeat process 3-4 times until the popup disappears and the screen becomes responsive again. Never deal with said popup again. Win.

There have been a few instances over the years where ads from MMO-C tried to slip viruses or adware or spyware onto people's PCs.

They don't really seem to care who or what they allow on the site, they just take anyone willing to throw money at them.

I use noscript so it blocks EVERYTHING that I don't want. If there are any popups asking you to whitelist or turn off "ad block" then I don't even see them because even that is blocked.

I'll never allow ads because ads are fucking annoying, intrusive, invasive, and obnoxious.

Right now Ghostery is blocking 18 different trackers. I've seen it as high as 31 today. Educate yourself.
