Hard to say. Maybe the technical and/or manpower limitations when the designers made those armors and textures where just too constricting to allow better designs - or designs I like more, to put it another way. I really don't like any of the older sets/armors, just too blocky for my taste.

But I would love some tacky, well designed Bikini, or a short skirt with a hot top ;-). As long as it fits the character and is high-res / high poly.

I, personally, feel like I see enough hood-rats and rednecks wearing questionably skimpy, grotesque clothing as is within my life.

...It'd be nice if the fantasy world could be a little bit classier, if not ridiculously overly zealous in the spikes department. I do believe you can make "sexy" armor and still not have it look absolutely obscene, especially as cloth/leather wearers but please no more panties and leggings. >:

Old sets had no 3d elements at all aside from shoulder and hats or bulked up gloves/boot elements.

I would love actual bikini/crop top design for a shirt, with actual loose fitting female style leather/cloth top/jacket over it.

Plate bikinis like Jade might be too small to be re-invented as complete new designs, but some plate/mail armor that shows some belly button isn't bad in my book.

Would love to see shorter skirts with or without a legging beneath them. Old skirt design actually was empty from below, it looked terrible when swimming.

Doesn't need to be erotic inspired at all to be able to show some skin.

I know thigh-high stockings often are linked to Sexy things. Most plate bikini sets and Black Mageweave style design has that.

Not everything needs to show cleavage like the old swashbuckler shirts. But a higher res version of that wouldn't hurt either.

Corsair's Overshirt , an actual Cloth chestpiece.

Again I am not against any old vanilla armor design, they been part of the game since forever. And surely won't mind updates on them, even if it means less skin shown, and more 3d elements/layers.

Not really, just got tired from having to repeat myself to the same people over and over. It's not so much random as it's direct responses to their ridiculous claims.

Game of Thrones is indeed one of the greatest shows of all time, and it should not be censored, yet I've heard plenty of people say those exact things about it, that it's nothing but porn.

I play this game not because I am so immersed in Warcraft fantasy and roleplay a Warlock, but simply because it's a bloody great game I play many years and I happen to like WoW raids. The lore aspect is a bonus, but I'll tell you something - if tomorrow they announce "Rage of the Uncle Ben" expansion where the main adversary is mutated packet of Uncle Ben's rice threatening to destroy Azeroth, I would not bat an eyelash as long as it would have great raiding and gameplay.
Transmogs are part of roleplaying. We're not talking about gameplay. Not sure were you pulled the fallacy card from.

There are lots of silly things, not just from a lack of armor but completely unrealistic to impossible.
    Thats part of the fun.

There is room in the game for players at both ends, and all the way in-between.
Realistic and serious to downright silly and impractical.

Right i forgot to add that "I" find skimpy armour to be attention seeking. Mostly i'm talking about armour that tries to be too "sexy" and revealing, not for example the DH default armour sets that are nude but without extra sexualizing the character in the process.

But i do respect other ppls choices, i just do not like how the character looks which is personal thing.
The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head.

"Only men can like skimpy things!"

The majority of women I've known in WoW tend to do skimpier mogs. Thats just my own experience, but this has been true in other MMO too.

EDIT: Hell thats been true in real life. Insisting that women prefer covering up is just puritanism.

It's 2017. If you think that's weird - YOU are weird.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

Man, awful lot of "I don't like something therefore no one should get it" going on in this thread...

    1. So glad there is already tons of super skimpy armor in WoW, so the box has been opened on this long, long ago.
    2. The people who are butthurt in this thread are the reason I like to wear it so much. Hilarious and sexy at the same time. Best part of the game.

Because it makes literally ZERO sense even in fantasy setting.
Why? "Fantasy" settings doesnt mean that we have to dress like Gandalf...
A side the fact that the world "fantasy" imply you have no barrier about how you can imagine things... but why having a gigantic irrealistic armor is ok but not a "bikini"?

    And an armor for what?
We can not be hurt or die, we wear that - things - just for stats, not because we have to protect ourself. It's just aesthetic that does not have to answer to any logic: so we can have unicorns or rainbow that flows from shoulders or that gigantic - impossible to wear in any realistic scenario - shoulders... and I can have shorts, bikini or a bra made by leaf!

And any "irrealistic" argomunt in a fantasy world is a bullshit... and is a bullshit even in a realistic contest, our Gradiators in Arena wears tunic, helmet, shield
    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xqoL47wQsZ...poli_mus08.JPG

Even the main WoW's characters are not "packed" in these suffocating armors: Kiljaeden, the Warlords, Valkirys, Garrosh, Ner'zhul, Nightborn...
    http://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/screen...mal/491955.jpg

But trust me, less things we wear, better is... not beacuse I wanna have a slutty look, but because mostly of armor design is ugly: I preferd to be naked than to have to wear shaman's T20.

Infact, "dont show" button, is the best option we got and to me, could be apply on any piece of gear... :P

And, as a woman, makes me piss off the fact that I have to "be ashamed", because I wanna have a sexy look in a videogame!
Don't under stimate "bikini", are less than 100 that we are allow to use it, and we battling for that.
    Before was like this: http://cdn.vintagedancer.com/wp-cont...-swimsuits.jpg

and now, in a fantasy scenario, we got this

I never really played one either, but if I'd go alliance I'd probably play multiple.

I really wonder how the figures would have looked if no expansion races were added.

Anyway I would love another model update for the game, that includes updating goblins/worgen further, and adds subraces. And like I said, update textures on the old armor that's still available, and expand the Trial of Style thing to a weekly or 2 weekly repeating event.
It doesn't offer as much protection.

New skimpy armor means new ugly, misogynistic garbage gear that I have to be disappointed in. Blizzard's art direction is disappointing enough with armor without making it unusable out of hand by making it a bikini.

I'd care somewhat less if it was equally skimpy, but 90% of the bikini-plate and belly-and-boob-window cloth/leather is fully covering on men. It's just obnoxious.

Gladiators are just actors to entertain public. They aren't trained for war, crusade or whatever. They raised and trained exclusively for arena where they expected to get injured a lot. That's why they cover head and crotch - one hit and you dead. Right hand also - one hit and you can't fight and entertain public. Everything else do not lead to instadeath usually. So legs torso and left hand isn't armored. Because it's f.cking SHOW not war.
Why you think the Net was born? Porn! Porn! Porn!

  18. #538
I just don't get the appeal. Maybe for cloth and leather it's fine but not really a fan of ppl using poorly textured 1d plate chests with newer armor around it so they can show off their character's boobs.

I'm much too busy killing demons and saving worlds and stuff to worry about looking like a cosplayer.
