basically it doesn't work as is. you drop one and use the other as a 2-handed weapon, and turn it around so the concave side is facing away. basically a klingon bat'leth

The kind of glaives that Demon Hunters use are elongated fist weapons.
Their range is pretty much zero (no extra reach like with a sword or staff) but their long curved blades allow you to "dance" around your target and slice while you move.
That is actually the whole concept of DH - use agility to evade attacks as you "dance/jump/slide" around a target and cut it to ribbons.
The crescent shaped glaives allow DH to make each one of their spins/moves an attack, but it is still a very stylized and impractical weapon by human standards.
I presume they work like swords. So instead of just hacking on someone like an axe, when you use a sword you tend to pull the blade back towards you so it cuts once it reaches the target. The way these things are made, you have to push forward and a bit to the side so the blade grinds along the enemy.
Really love talking about weapons in games to see how silly or practical they are <3
A very awful weapon.
lol why don't DHs just use guns?
Magic. The same way hunters have a bottomless quiver to draw from.
trying to bring logic to a world of magic......

A double bladed light saber is for most intends and purposes just a staff with a blowtorch on each end. You aren't limited by having only 1 side that can actually cut. It's also a freely useable 2h weapon, where warglaives are dual wielded and more or less statically attached to your hands (no demonhunter so far has actually changed their grip on them).
Conclusion: Emo hunters are the weeaboos of wow with weapons so impractical that they'd probably lose before they actually start the fight .

I think throwing the second one away really is a good first step. That still leaves you with a clunky curved sword with 2 blades and negates most of it's range advantage because you can only really do an arc close to your body by rotating along with the "weapon". I think the whole concept of dual bladed only works if you at least gain some range and additional momentum by it. It would probably also work better if the side pointing backwards was curved outward, that way you could at least do a cutting arc withing impaling yourself. It would also adress the reverse striking direction someone else tried to ascribe to warglaives earlier .
You spin until you're 10,000x more exhausted than your opponent without hitting them at all, he then attacks you because you can't guard with warglaives and you die.
Double bladed lightsaber is incredibly impractically as well because the blades are significantly larger than the handle so it's nothing like a staff. The risk of using a double bladed lightsaber is ridiculous and not worth it at all.
Yeah you got a point there. I realized the issue with the short grip as well later, you can't really use it like you would a staff. But when it comes to impractical and dangerous I think the lightsaber has it covered even in the normal variant though. Adding more "blades" to it in any direction just increases the danger to the wielder (like the new one with 2 blades at the guard). My main point was more along the lines of that you can wield it more freely (if you avoid cutting yourself), where's warglaives seem to restrict you much more.
Not well, if at all.
I'd be more inclined to say that you'd to slice yourself to death before you pose a threat to an enemy. But Demon Hunters can handle it! How? Their edge, bro, their edge.
/facedesk works well
Have to use your body to do some slicing. Spin around like a dancer and you will be like a sharp beyblade. Beyond that, they seem to work best as defensive weapons than offense but their tank speck uses something else.
The wise wolf who's pride is her wisdom isn't so sharp as drunk.

I guess you'd mostly keep your arms still and rotate your whole torso like you're paddling a kayak. Great upper body/core workout, but it seems like you'd be better off using bare fists in a fight, since the glaives have even less range than your normal reach. But really, in a world with guns, it doesn't make any sense to use any bladed weapon at all.
Take a broom handle and swing it forward and backward (fully stretch arms). If you hit yourself then you are just clumsy. And broom handle should be much longer than warglaive type of sword.

If warglaives would be made like normal sword with right weight and dimensions it would be actually quite easy to parry and defend yourself with it. What people are not pointing out is that dualwielding swords is a bad idea, and it was used rarely in times where people used swords.
