To be completely honest, I can't even recall who the villain from Psycho-Pass 2 was. After looking up an image of him I still can't remember anything about him.

To be completely honest, I can't even recall who the villain from Psycho-Pass 2 was. After looking up an image of him I still can't remember anything about him.

pyscho pass 2 super spoilers (from what I remember) he was the only "survivor" of some vehicular crash (plane I believe) - by being stitched together by every other person who died in that crash. Therefore his pyscho pass magically wasn't readable "because he wasn't one person". Therefore since the system didn't recognize him, he won't recognize the system! His penultimate plan was for him to get killed thereby proving the system will bend the rules

The second season wasn't trash, it's just that it's been a while since it aired and the general perception of it has been distilled down to "it's trash". In and of itself it was alright, it had its moments, but it absolutely pales in comparison to the first season.

Season 2 went for gratuitous gore and valued the shock effect more than the dire implications of the show's dystopian setting, which was one of the aspects that the first season focussed on.

From what I've heard, and I would agree with that sentiment, most people think that the second season had a better villain. His motive made more sense and was more comprehensible than Makishima's.

Overall though, Season 2 just seemed like it tried to outdo the first season, all the while completely misunderstanding what made the first season so great, and ended up being more of a tasteless pastiche than a proper sequel.

Actually, that makes a lot more sense to me now. Generally my enjoyment of something is heavily based off of how good the villain is, admittedly to the point of where I drown out other flaws to the series.

For the first season, it just kinda bothered me how reasonless Makishima felt, and how everything was just solved before it happened, because Kogami knew all. Everything else, especially the Sibyl parts, was pretty great.

Youkoso Jitsuryoku 01 - For some reason I expected the twist to be something bigger, especially with those kids saying how Class D would go through hell. But I guess this is fine too.

This episode reminded me a lot of Yahari (especially considering not8man, notYukino, and notYui), but at least the setting is somewhat more interesting. Not entirely sure where it's going to go from here but the first episode was pretty good.

Government Marriage 2: I think this is above par. Couple of inane tropes made me roll my eyes irl, but it's k. Pretty neat how both girls are genuinely cute and I'm interested to see who wins out.

I just finished Gundam: War in the Pocket.

10/10 class act

Damn, I've seen over 120 anime, several of which were Gundam series - and **THIS is 10/10 material** in my book. Going up on my favorites list along with FMAB, Fate/Zero, and Princess Mononoke. Holy crap, the feels! A story with sincerity, friendship, ACTUAL COURAGE and self sacrifice. If only there were more Gundam stories like this! I do like the shounen-esque adventure stories of IBO and Unicorn, but they've never felt so real or touching like War in the Pocket. Also, Bernie Wiseman is one of my most favorite anime characters of all time, and he earned that spot not with catch phrases or some "deep" or "complex" character arc, but - again - with simple sincerity and ACTUAL courage.

Holy crap, RESPECT Bernie Wiseman!

I can see someone saying that if they maybe watched 1 series subbed tops, because they really spent far too much time reading subs so they didn't see character movements / pay attention to the voice intonation and so on. But to anyone who actively watched at least a few series it's inexcusable (IE just ignorance)

Great voice acting transcends language barriers granted this one becomes even worse if you understand the language since the script is dogshit garbage and makes very little sense at times.
