    Jedi, Sith or Grey Code?

Which Code would you say closer mirrors your own philosophy and why?

Personally for me I say Sith the Jedi have a lot of lofty ideas noble, but honestly short sighted.

"There is no emotion, there is peace" Uh not exactly suffering exist in worlds without any real idea of what peace is.

"There is no ignorance, there knowledge" False there is ignorance and even those with knowledge who choose it otherwise known as stupidity

"There is no passion, there is serenity" Denying ones own truth is ignorance and stupidity one can not truly be free unless one knows their own truth.

"There is no Chaos, there is Harmony" Which is why peace has become a lie, because the words mean nothing if it's divorced from truth.

"There is no death, there is the force" Like saying I am not thirty there is only the river. NONSENSE

One can't live without at least first knowing who they are to then be able to decide what one wants.

none. i'd either get my force powers suppressed or removed out of fear of my own instability, or use it sparingly to aid anyone i might happen across in need.

though, i would use mind tricks to get money every now and then.

I didn't know there were Grays, is that cannon? I suppose it would make sense.

"Grey Jedi" are non-canon... just typical EU bullshit.
Both the Sith and the Jedi are in the wrong, and they constantly break their own 'code'.

There is rumor that is how this new trilogy is going to end, a reckoning of the Light and the Dark, I am not sold but it at least is interesting enough to ask this question.

Sounds pretty wise if you can't trust yourself.

grey jedi are canon, but they never had a code, not even in EU, that's just some bullshit some random fan came up with.

O.T. I'd go for grey, balance is best.

Revan isn't cannon not 100% this is either, but the concept of both seems to be adopted, The Clone Wars is cannon though.

I mean Qui-Gon was basically a Gray Jedi in all but name. The EU just gave what he was a name.

Not disagreeing at all because I don't know but why would you say Qui-Gon is grey is that based on something outside of the prequals?

Yes everything but the three trilogies and the Clone Wars/Rebels TV shows is non-canon.

Qui-Gon was more like a maverick when it came to his stance with the council. Even though he sometimes wouldn't heed advice or warning from them his actions and reasons were always dedicated towards the light side.

False. The books since the Rebels tie in novel are canon as all are the new comics. Disney doesn't do the tier canon like EU did.

Also, isn't there an inherent problem with the idea behind a Grey?

For starters, it's essentially an umbrella term to catch those who haven't studied traditional teachings and are therefor unable to commit to one side of the Force or the other. Chirrut Imwe from R1 and the Miraluka would likely fall under this as well since they are born force sensitive along with many other races and beings... barring canon of course.

Secondly, can you really have one with the other? Isn't your level of power dictated by your faith which would cause issues if you were mentally and spiritually attuned to both sides of the Force to anywhere near their full potential? They're both vastly different philosophies to uphold especially if we're talking the degree of dedication and proficiency of a Jedi Master and a Sith Lord. It seems like Grey would be more of a "jack of all, master of none" order otherwise their mind and body would break from the constant battle of contradictions.

So, without totally hamming it up and creating a god-like being who encompasses all forms of the Force at once I don't think a Grey would be anything special. They'd have their own powers and beliefs to be sure but would be over-shadowed by a proper Jedi or Sith.

With all that said, I'd probably be a Grey in a sense that I make compromises rather than strict adherence and lack any particular form of high-level proficiency.

Going by prequels I wouldn't really call him grey. He still followed the moral code of the Jedi. He just didn't really follow the council.
