What is the most fun build that's been killed by Blizzard?

I'm pretty new to WoW and have been following the Frost DK and Brewmaster threads recently. People seem to be pretty upset about builds that they thought were balanced and fun being nerfed or just deleted. In one of the threads someone mentioned something about 'gladiator warrior' and how it was killed.

I was wondering, what are some build from any time in the past that were super fun, relatively balanced, and then subsequently removed from the game for whatever reason?

firemage through all of cataclysm was hilaaaaaariously OP especially in pvp.

I really miss cata/mop/wod Survival Hunter. Sometimes I'll just stare at my character screen at my hunter and sigh in disappointment 'cause she just isn't fun anymore.

Mid-late MoP destro lock and ele shaman. Both specs were dog shit in WoD, which was a factor in why I stopped playing.

from a pvp perspective, disco priests. not the smitey atonement shite, but from mop onwards they removed shadow damage spells like mind blast. even in cata they made us chose between psychic scream and mind control. i persevered, but the final nail was patch 7.0, where they just gutted it to an unfun mess. one of the reasons i quit for good. another being what they did to survival hunters. r.i.p.

Survival Hunter (though I actually like the melee spec, but I also like ranged survival WTB 4th spec)

Pretty much each and every xpac I expect them to fuck something up on the class I am enjoying playing.

What was cool about it?

metamorphosis (demon form) which besides being cool enabled:

heroic leap with a stun (demon leap)
no fall damage (meteor fall)
immolatoin aura (and hellfire out of meta) for Aoe
Hand of guldan root (then nerfed to slow, then nerfed to no slowing effect)
demonic portal didn't have a use CD, just charges related to the portal itself

in demon form you could insta cast your filler on the move so moving around didn't hurt your dps that much
demon soul - 2 charges of mastery boost to allign with demon form
carrion swarm - knockback

we also had:
soul harvest - AoE dmg+healing
soulshatter - partial threat dump
soulfire - execution phase cast
dark bargein - buble for 8 secs (and then suffering some of the dmg back when it's end)

I'm pretty sure I'm missing some stuff as well...

(like the dark apoptosis glyph which enabled demolocks to tank and taunt...plus cool wings)

demo lock was my main from pretty much day 1 and lasted until legion (give or take 6 years). sadly, it is now a bank alt and even then - in affliction spec.

WoD demonology warlocks.

I simply loved metamorphosis , huge AoE, and fun rotation. You simply ALWAYS had something to do yet still need to anticipate and react appropriately.

MOP Survival Hunter. It had everything! Dots, aoe, execute, procs, all ranged while on the move! Granted in hindsight it maybe was a 'bit' overpowered. It was the most damn fun I ever had with a spec. RIP.

Oh just to add on.. it had defensives to negate mechanics, a bit of self-sustain, could drop aggro. It just had so many buttons on the bar but it flowed to nicely! It's a shame what hunter has become now.
