Only the druids were sleeping. There were still male night elves around, but I think most of them would be civilians, as traditionally males weren't allowed as priests, mages were forbidden and most of the Sentinels were female. There would be quite a few warriors, hunters and so on.

So, unless a female was dating a druid, they would still have their mates around.

That said, I have the feeling that there's a lot of saphic actions among night elves... Wouldn't be strange considering their culture.
