What? Japan is the 3rd largest economy with a GDP of 5~ trillion USD. SK is the 11th largest economy with a GDP of 1.4~ trillion USD.

Jokes aside, the Japanese are a very unique people. Just for being able to rebuild itself from scraps into top three world economy in half a century, that should grant them admiration.

Also, it's "easy" to be a huge economy when you are a huge country, but they managed it being a tiny island... Not that they are without flaws, but still respectable enough that we shouldn't be considering their destruction as being ok.
