He may be President ex-offico (for now). But foreign leaders do not seek him out, rarely speak to him, and mostly are planning around him. Angela Merkel is effectively leader of the free world until the US gets it shit together.

It's not really a moment. The people who voted for Trump did not suddenly appear. White supremacism did not suddenly appear and a tacit acceptance for it among members of the Republican party is not something new.
