    Urgent Help

I ordered new PC parts for an entirely new build, and I became worried seeing the Mhz support on my motherboard being 2133 at base, with everything above being in OC mode. What is this supposed to mean? This is my motherboard:

    Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Ultra Gaming, S-1151

    Overview: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard...ming-rev-10#kf

My RAM is 8 gb and at 2400 Mhz. Will it work on this? Should I get a new MB instead?

That's very likely your RAM speed.

Find the X.M.P. option in the GigaByte BIOS (should be fairly easy to find) ... set it and save and reboot.

And then you have 2.400MHz RAM speed.

Your CPU is probably running higher so don't worry about that.

So, the 2133 Mhz stock doesn't mean anything in practice here? All I have to do is change the setting in BIOS (XMP) and put it to 2400 Mhz and all is good?

Pretty much, and you won't get a choice of speeds, you'll simply get "Profile1" and if the RAM has multiple X.M.P. profiles "Profile2" etc.

You simply set it to Profile1 and save and exit and you're done, nothing else.
All Kaby Lake CPUs support 2.400MHz out of the box officially.

Oh amazing. So I just turn on XMP. Great!

I'll post my setup in another thread soon if you want to check it out.

Oh haha, now I will just show the specs, but might post pics of the finished product later. It will arrive in 2-3 days first!

But no worries, I'm a perfectionist myself.
